No I ground away the Line-X and still had to Dremmel/file away 1/8-1/4" of steel so I don't know what went on there with the support holes...

Yeah yeah yeah, next time

The LF240s look awesome, and I'm happy with the outcome, just need to get the winch good to go and we'll be set!

With that, will I need to just spool out the wire, and then I'm assuming there's a screw holding in the rope so I just undo that and then hook up the synthetic rope, attach it to something and spool it back up onto the drum?

varies winch to winch. Some will have a way to hook up syth line or your line will have it on the end.

if it doesn't. run it parralel with the drum and duck tape it at each end and in the middle. Then just start wraping it up. Just use hand tension for the frist 4-5 wraps.

Then have it hook up to another truck and pull yourself with the winch so the line gets wrapped under load. You do NOT want to wrap it on the drum not under tension. Otherwise the first time you go to use it under real load in a real situation, the line with tighten on itself and get buried within its self and cause all kinds of problems.

the reason you can get away with the duck tape method is you should never really let out more line then the last full wrap around the drum. There should always be line on the drum. That said i have gone half a drum left and i have mine duck taped on and have used it several times with no issues.

and please wear protection. the marines will make you deaf enough as it is. you will regret it if you don't. Hearing aids suck.

    What bolts did you use?

I'm guessing those are the tow-hook bolts. The non tow hook ones are much shorter. Can order them through Toyota (#91642-81235) or stop in at a hardware store. They should be 12mm x 1.25 x 35mm, grade 8 or better.

ok, this makes complete sense but it IS the first time I have heard of this.
I did attach to drum via bolt and used human body tension to wrap the entire 50' synth, so I would rather do it right and use another truck to wrap it, at least partially.

Yeah buddy!!!! This has been a long time coming.

Bumper looks fantastic man, glad you finally were able to get it mounted up. I remember saying to you that a fully Line-X bumper and grill would look strange, well I was wrong. Looks tough as nails man.

Hopefully we can get a NW meet-up together before you head back to SD so I check it out in person.

Elite was just under 1k for the bumper itself. Sandblasting was $80 and then the Line-X was $325 so in total it's $1,400 or so.

Great point, I'll be picking 4 of those bolts up in the AM from Lowes!

As promised, see the following post

Ah gotcha, yeah I might have to get to that tomorrow or whenever I come back home to get my truck after these next 2 months of training.

A LONG time coming haha. Thanks for the compliments!
Doubt I'll be able to get together for a meet tomorrow before I leave on Tuesday morning but in the future I'd love to get together with you all one last time before moving to San Diego for good
