Some of the trucks came with crappy brand clutches, maybe search for luk clutch tsb and see if it applies to you.

Woah! How many miles on it then?? At any rate, there is no acceptable reason for the clutch to be slipping on a 2012. Hope you're able to get that sorted out!

Any other mods to the truck or is it stock? Did you buy it new? That's sounds like too low of miles for clutch issues. I have 80K on mine and no clutch issues. That's S/C too.

No. It's a known issue. Plenty of threads about slipping clutches on new trucks.

Mine went out at 21,000 miles. Started slipping and out of warranty. Don't let the dealer pretend like they don't know about it. It's a known issue. Call Toyota CUSTOMER CARE.

You need to avoid using the higher gears on inclines/long & or steep hills, don't lug your engine, 2nd gen clutches have issues (still) & if clutch is going out under revving/lugging is really going to put the final nail in it... As bad or worse than over revving...

The issue is the crappy pressure plate. The clutch doesn't actually wear out with low miles. This is mine at 21k. Still lots of meat and slipping quite a bit.

I should've taken a photo next to the new plate. They were nearly the same. The new clutch has a stiffer pressure plate and much better feel.

Interesting, we have a member here locally thats getting his truck replaced by way of Ca. lemon law 4 or 5 clutch assemblys, & proven in court it's a manu. issue not customers.. Plus the 6 speed is a pretty crappy trans actually, weak, crappy ratio split.. but thats just my opinion if you guys like them ,great..
