I normally don't set it up in super public camping places. Every time someone is around I get stares for days though. Normally people only ask about it when I set it up in city.

Haha don't blame you. I normally pull off in the middle of a short 45 minute drive on my way back from Cheyenne . By far the best thing about having an RTT or a cap with a bed. If I don't have to get back home in a hurry then I am gonna go chill out and catch some Z's .

Ha well after this one I am done till around September. I get the new tires on this Thursday so I will be stopping for my nap mentioned above most likely on the way home.

I am at about 15k on them and they still have another 15k for sure. Solid tire IMO and can't be beat for the price. I would have went with them again but their 315/75 r16 has been out of stock since September.

Hmm. That aint too shabby at all.. If they had 255/85/16, id buy a treadwright in a heartbeat but alas..

i dont wanna do all the trimming/banging/cutting that comes with 285+ tire sizes..

The work isn't a whole lot. I would do it just to save the money. After seeing a 255 in the store too I am not sure how it would look on a 2nd gen. Have you seen them in person yet?

    you've never seen a 2nd gen on 255's?

I guess you're assuming it would look too skinny?

I haven't in person. Camera angles can make a lot of difference. I debated 255's for awhile but after seeing then in store I wasn't sure if I would like them. That truck looks good though :).

    thanks :D

I had to test fit someone else's tire first to decide if I liked them, then I got a sweet deal on these used so it was a no brainer.

 I learned pretty quickly last summer that whenever I'm setting up camp in a campground or within view of any road I need to have all of my other tasks completed before setting up the tent. Once the tent goes up you have no peace and quiet! But I met some good folks last year...and burned a couple of dinners...

The funniest one was this little kid...he was riding his bike through camp and came up on my site. He skidded to a stop in the middle of the road and looked like  then took off. A few minutes later he came back with his dad because he had to show his dad the "transformer truck" The kid was so excited he couldn't really explain to his dad what it was and I think the dad was really confused as to what his son saw.

That's awesome with the kid! I was at a camp ground last year to finish up a trip with my family and a guy that had been looking at it all day asked where I bought it. The place I bought it was an hour away, he got in his SUV and went and bought one! That made me laugh, they defiantly draw a crowd.

I'm new to the Top Tent idea but from the pictures I've seen online, it looks awesome. Anybody have any advice on the pros/cons of specific brands and mounting options (over bed/over cab)? What about rack options with a tonneau cover on the bed? Will these top tents mount on standard Thule/Yakima type rails or are some mods needed if you put the tent over the cab? Finally, how about storage racks..I've seen pictures of the style that crank the tent up to the ceiling for storage..any advice on where to get those or what types are best?

    Thanks for the inputs.
