I had my stereo upgraded from OEM to a Pioneer touch display with bluetooth and and a mic/hands free phone capabilities. It made the speakers sound way better and is pretty badass to listen to pandora or my ipod without plugging anything in!

It was $350 for the unit, $500 all in with install, harness, and bracket. They wanted another $120 to hook it back up to the steering wheel volume controls. I skipped that one though.

Sweet! I just bought that head unit online yesterday. A local member here in Columbia works for a stero shop and is helping me install next weekend. I'm excited as hell. How do you like it so far?

Nice, I like it a lot. The only downside so far is when the lights are on (and I leave mine on all of the time) the screen display dims down too much to even see it legibly in the day time. If you find a way to turn up the brightness I'd appreciate a heads up! I can't find it for the life of me. Other than that it's great. It'll make your speakers punch a lot harder and just sound better all around and the bluetooth feature is awesome! You made a good choice :)

Ok, I'll look out for that. Your install looks very clean. Did that trim ring come with the radio?

Yeah, it did. Not sure if it was part of the bracket or radio but they provided/installed it. I was surprised how exact they were able to get the bracket. Same design with the grey textured plastic.

He asked if it had any premium aspects at all, which mine didn't. It would have cost more for the install if it had so I'm assuming there's more work to it but they could have done it. Unless JBL isn't considered "premium" components then I dunno.

I decided in the first 5mins driving home from the dealer that the stock radio was going, lol. I went the same route with a touch screen.

Yeah, I'm pretty much not going to have a stock radio again. Not for very long anyways. Always going to get upgraded.

LARGER WHEELS. DIFFERENT STEREO. PUSH BAR. TAILGATE EXTENDER. WIPER MOD. TPMS LIGHT DELETE MOD.
My 2014 SCION XB also gets too dim with the lights on. Also a touch screen. I think it's a design flaw.

I have a Pioneer AVH-X5500 and the interface looks similar. Push the button with the 4 squares in it and it should give you your system menu. Press the system icon and you'll probably find the brightness adjustment.
