The dealer was suppose to get me a D-cab 4x4 TRD Off Road with the tow package. They realized after they got it in it's a TRD Sport. They said the Sport was $300.00 more but they would cover that. Should I hold out for the Off Road or take the Sport ? All other options are the same.

Wtf the sports are generally not more and I would never bother with a spots. Go SR5 and save some cash or go Off Road and do it right. I for one can't stand the look of the fake ass scoop.

Good analogy. OP, you should pass on the Sport package and tell the dealer to get you the truck you want or you will go elsewhere.

Look up the packages online. Truecar maybe. I'm pretty sure the off road package costa more.

    A few bolts are different.
There is upgrade $$$ involved, but I would bet on my trd sport versus an off-road in many categories.

This depends on how you will use the truck. If both trucks are DCSB it is an easy choice. Off-road all the way. If the sport is the DCLB you might have to weight your options on how you use the truck. DCLB is only available in the sport. The DCLB 4x4 TRD Sport might have more use to you if you rarely go off road and the extra bed length is useful. If you plan to do any moderate off roading, get the 4x4 TRD Off Road. Just my .02

WheatherTech Side Window Deflector, Satoshi Grill, T Rex Eyelids, Matt123 Skid Black stamped, Modded Maglite with Maglite mod for driver seat, Bed extender. Full debadging
Love my OR but if I would do it over again, I didn't need all the farkles of the OR but it's great to have it, the body color mirror, bumpers and fake scoop looks cool but would've got scratched up going Off Road. So for my use I would go OR again. Had the same choice when I bought mine. I wanted the Pyrite Mica one so bad but glad I went with Super White. (Can't see all the scratches). Funny but here in CA. the Sport was cheaper.

Sport! Then throw an ARB in it, to get around all the blown 8"ers on the trail

I would say this. And it's what I plan to do.

Is there an issue w/ the e-locker and the rear axle? Or is there an issue w/ the rear axle at all? I thought these were pretty burly axles for a "mid size" truck.

In IL you are prob looking at mud and snow, so the locker is not all that big a deal. Here in FL, only mud and the locker only if you put it on the frame. The prob here is that the sport IS the less exp option. They are trying to screw you. Get just what you want. No matter what garbage they try to give you. I love my sport but I just wanted to drop some jaws and get down the club roads down here.

OP , you stated all options are the same between the Offroad and the Sport so I assume they brought you in a DCSB Sport , if you want a DCSB :puke: , I would get the Offroad

    Some stuff...
Hhhmmm, I thought the OR package was more than the Sport? If you want the sport then go with it, but don't let the Stealership shove it up your ass with some line of shit like that. Check Toyota's site, build a Sport vs OR and examine the prices in comparison to one another. It sounds like the sales crook is trying to pocket some extra ca$h at your expense and pawn off whatever they have.

When I custom ordered my OR the idiots at the dealer ordered a Sport in error. When the sales manager called to tell me that they fucked up, they never said "the Sport is $300 more than the OR". They simply said that they screwed up, apologized, re-ordered the OR and gave me an additional $300 or so off for the inconvenience and having to wait another 6 GD weeks....

So the axle shafts, ring, and pinion are sturdy? Just the e-locker carrier?

Sounds like the near bullet proof ARB is the way to go. And you can use it in 2H/4H w/ a decent little air compressor as well. Pricey but a great set up. Plus they sound really cool when you turn them on and off.:D
