Key is the ability to pack down good so the shed doesn't settle wonky over the years while also maintaining proper drainage. I have no idea how many rocks I used under my 10' x 10', but you don;t need more than 2" or so IMHO.

Does precheck always make you take off all your shoes or just because you had steel toe?

 

Just cause they made the metal detector go off. Laptop stays in your bag, can wear belts, light jackets/sweatshirts, and the line is hella short. I'm not sure what I takes to get a known traveler number, but I get to put my military employee ID in and that covers me. From getting dropped off at the curb - I only had to stop walking to take my boots off and put them on...and stuff my face.

hopefully like yesterday, got up to like 65 and sunny, i was wearing shorts.

 

Nice shed! One thing I noticed when looking for sheds that everyone should consider was the use of 1x3's for their construction and wide spacing of joists/studs to save money. Screw that! I wanted a shed built like a house so I chose a builder who only used 2x4's and framed them just like a house with double headers that interlocked, PT plywood floors, 30 year shingles, studs/joists centered at 16", jack studs at openings, and PT 4x4 sub-framing. I also went with no windows so no kids could smash and grab.

My sister and mom also have the same brand shed. My sisters has been sitting on the ground for over 15 years and I just started to notice some rot on the 4x4's last year. I put my moms on a rock base like mine.

Also be sure to call your insurance company and get it over-insured for a few bucks a year. Ive got almost 10k of stuff packed into mine so if it were robbed or burnt down I would be screwed if not insured.

Thanks man and thanks again for getting the old bushings pressed out! It's amazing how much lift I have with just the newer pack and shackles. It get's me really excited for when I can afford to lift it.

Hey man... I know they aren't the prettiest but the Dutch style really maximizes the space... you can make 1 or 2 mini storage lofts like the one you have in your garage with just a 2x4 and a piece of plywood. ..

 

Yeah gambrel roofs are a much better choice for sheds. Lets you stand upright closer to the walls.
