I am in the booneyville MN. Finding hockey on TV is like winning the lottery. Generally dont seek to watch vid on my phone.

 

I play a couple times per week. It drives me bonkers when guys give the puck to the other team. Some guys actually think that if they dump the puck that some dog is gonna go hunting for it. It is amazing how watching NHL systems can fuck with the average Joe's perception of reality. Puck posession is everything in hockey if you ask me.

You have guys on your team that try a dump and chase? Amazing. My buddy's team has 4 guys who skate up ice as soon as he gets the puck (he's a dman). They all wait at the other blue line. LOL

with the right players you can win with dump and chase, but ya that average player needs the puck more to win. Thats why teams like toronto block lots of shots, and have lots of hits. Because they chase the game. Its Carlyle though, once hes gone and a few more players move in and out the team will be much better. Their defensive play and PK have destroyed them this year.

 

We have a guy who likes to dump. ..no one chases. D men who dump the puck out and on to the stick of the other team are even worse....oh the frustrations of beer league hockey ...lol. i will never get the lack of sense in these guys

Sure dump and chase works in the modern NHL. Guys skate so well and work so hard now. You would be hard pressed to find evidence of Lafleur or Orr dumping the puck. In beer league there is no place for it because there is no one who will get it. Point is possesion is a key in success for skilled teams. I.E. Blackhawks

 

Flames and Leafs look terrible tonight, and the refs just completely invented a high stick call for a Leafs PP........looks like everyone is on tonight

 

When I played pickup for a few years there was this one guy so horrible (held his stick like a golf club - think Jagr) who never passed the puck. Set up as a dman and tried to Bobby Orr the thing up ice always ending in a turnover. So if he got the puck we always turned around and skated back to our zone.

 

What a shitty hockey game.....yawn
