Any update on how those shelves are working out? Pics with gear in them? I plan on doing something like this. On the Passenger side I am going to make a kennel for my pooch and rear driver side I wanna do shelves just like yours. Im gonna use the space behind the seats now as my gun transport. I will build some type of gun rack back there.

    That's my plan at least...

I'll post some pics up tonight. The shelves are great as I keep a lot of random stuff in there for work. I cqnt stand when my truck isnt organized. I plan on building something on the other side when I get a fridge to put back there.

This is what it looks like with my current stuff. Some extra clothes, backpack, tiedowns, medical bag ( going to be replaced with a kit that attaches to the front), and my gym bag. The bungee cords on top are the best part. If you don't have people in the back normally this is a much better use of space, in my opinion.

How far forward is your drivers seat? I know that when I drive, my seat is all the way back as far as it goes?

Seat is all the way back. Then reclined back slightly farther than I like so I can always have a comfortable position.

I often simply remove the seat bottoms to gain storage room; haven't thought much about removing the seat backs since they do fold down and provide a nice flat surface for carrying stuff. Are the seat backs just as easy to remove? 2006 double cab.

    Thanks.

The only difficult part is the plastic storage bin bc it uses the little plastic clips.

Decided that the other seat had to go so I have added a storage bin and mount for my new fridge. It is still a work in progress. I was going to do a drawer for my stove but the drawer wouldn't be wide enough because of the door. Now that I have mounted I just need to figure out what else I want to do with it and where I am going to store the stove.
