Here are my personal dislikes about my truck.

    1. my knee tends to hit the 4wd shifter
    2. the 3.4 isn't that great
    3. no 5spd manual option for the DC's

    What are your dislikes?

You have the dash rattle to? I almost got a dash mat to see if it would help, but i just drive around with the radio up now, it's cheaper.

Oh yeah, the filter location sucks.

They don't make the first gen anymore so there really is no reason to complain lol the second gens can complain until they quit producing the second gen.

It lets perspective buyers know what some owners have issues with.

You're the only one I've ever heard say it was easy haha

It's not hard, but compared to almost any other vehicle it's a dumb placement.

Besides that mine is still under construction, not much.

I bought a 2nd gen Tundra to replace my first Tacoma. Missed it so much I had to go out and buy another 1st gen Tacoma.

As stated above, the oil filter location is just nasty, on both the I4 and V6. I got 1 of each. You will make a mess.

Granted its nowhere near as easy as the 2nd gen, but compared to my moms cr-v, my brothers cr-v, and my g/f's subie its way easier.

You have to use your left arm/hand and you have to take your watch off. And you will spill most of the filter before you can take it out.

The V6 is much easier than the I4. Still messy.

Oh right, I'm a lefty hahaha makes it easier too. If you have your pan in the right spot from draining the oil the oil from the filter will drain aright into the pan as well. Just kinda makes a mess of the wheel well/side of the engine.

I'm too short to get it from the top... So I have to fit a oil filter wrench through the fender, try to angle my arm to loosen it, then try to pull the whole mess out through the fender...

    Air

I've driven a 4.0 and it has better fuel economy and power, plus it has a timing chain vs the timing belt we have.

It's a good engine, but not great.

If i drive my sisters 08 DC it'll get ~17 MPG, in the same conditions as my truck gets 12 MPG, yes hers is 2wd, but that's not a 5mpg difference.

it's my personal preference to have a chain vs belt
