Weak tailgate reinforcement solution

Just added to the site. I'm mounting mine this week and will be beating it up. Looks solid and fits great. Check out my vendor forum, or the 96-04 section of my website.

My website takes credit cards as well if paypal is giving trouble. Otherwise just get it figured out, these will continue to be available. Just don't load too much in the mean time. lol

I can take pictures need be, I had to grind about 5 of them otherwise the bolts wouldn't fit into it.

What is the recomended method of protecting the top edge of the tailgate? When you say foam tape do you mean weather stripping? Also how tight is the bend over the top edge of tailgate? Maybe someone can post up a picture. Thanks.

Anyone else want Diamond plate? Looks like Gearheadesw makes 5 on the list, would like to see a couple more added so I can do a batch of 8 Diamond plate reinforcements!

 

Drew up a Tundra prototype reinforcement yesterday.

 

Also, for those that ordered diamond plate(up to 6... can take 2 more) I ordered the material but it has to come up from L.A. so it's a couple days extra onto what it usually is, and is set to be delivered to my shop this friday. We'll cut them friday as long as the material comes in early enough, and get them dropped at forming.

adhesive foam strip commonly called camper tape is what I use.

Got them all cut in a pile right now, ready for being dropped off at forming on monday. Just got the material about 4 on Friday but we got them cut yesterday
