Black Thunder edition - 17 of 25, crome roll bar, crome push bar, front and rear bumper also crome, crome step bars, torsion bars turned all the way up in the front (w/ alignment), 2" blocks in rear, 33" BFG all terrains, renamed Black Beauty 1 by my pops about 17 years ago
So the build is on.. Picked up a 7M-GTE from the junk yard a week ago.. Got it striped down, and dropped it off at the machine shop yesterday. Bare block, crank, and head. Having a list of things done and should get my stuff back next Friday.. I will be posting updates as I go.. This is my first ever engine build but I'm not in the business for half assing things. Check out pictures of 7M-GTE and of the yota it's going in!

Okay so I have some questions. Y'all know this this my first engine build so I am still learning.. Yeah laugh it up. Anyways if any of you might know this would be helpful.

My 7M-GTE is at the machine shop and the machinist over the whole place called and asked if I wanted the block "decked".. And I gave him my crank, pistons and head as well. He installed new valves in the head. Cleaned everything up nice and clean. But the whole point of the post is to find out what decking is and the benefits that comes with that. He said it will help with the head gasket

Decking is the process of extra machining to make it a true flat surface that will help the gasket and sit and seal better on the block.

Yes. You'll want to make sure it has a good seal and is nice and flat.
