Has anyone come across a mod to add illumination to the fog lamp switch when active or a replacement switch (FJ Cruiser or another model) that will replace the OEM switch in look and function, with this feature? Thanks.

Edit: I was even thinking one could mount a low intensity LED indicator in one of the blank switch plates adjacent to the switch, once they figured out how to remove the switch and plate and which wires to select. I have already completed the "on at will with ignition" mod.

A few mods here and there and counting....
You can use one of the FJ auxiliary switches. Some minor wiring is required but physically, its the same switch with illumination and an on indicator. The only addition is the illumination wires which is easily accessible either from another switch or your climate control panel.

Thanks. It looks like THIS one could work, from eBay. Can you be a bit more specific with your "illumination wires" comment? There is already (or should be) dash light illumination power to the existing wire harness, are you referring to a power source for the "on" indicator?

Adrian I think they want a different color when the fogs are on. I thought the same thing at first.

Yep, sorry for the "unclarity" - looking for an indictor when the fog lights are on.

Funny .. .. .. Toyota puts one in the odometer backing for the headlights, and they are pretty obvious, but nothing for the fogs.

I wish mine would glow bright or something when fogs are on.

I purchased the FJ Cruiser switch with indicator and wired it per page 4 of THIS thread as indicated above. It works well with the "anytime" mod to control the fogs, but the switch is powered from the dashboard lights therefore the indicator only works when the head or parking lights are on. Having done the "Fog Lights Anytime" mod I am looking to trigger the indicator with the fogs, not fogs and dashlights.

Final set up ended up basically the same as the Tacoma Nation link except used 12v from "accessory" on the fuse box behind the change drawer ("add-a-circuit") into the diode rather than using the dashlight input on the switch. So the indicator has power anytime the key is on and button is pushed. Anytime Fogs and Anytime Indicator!

And thanks to @nd4spdbh for some advice and "confidence building"

THe way i have mine set is that the switch will only illuminate when the lights are on.
So what you need to do is jump the two middle wires together.

I clipped the middle green on factory plug and jumped it over to the blue.

Here is the wiring for my light bar. on a factory fog switch
