So, it looks like my girlfriend and I are heading to Assateague/Chincoteague on Friday. Should be fun.. I've lived in MD my entire life and haven't been there.

Can't you drive down onto the beach there?

hmm, yep. Just looked it up.. $150 and mandatory tow strap, jack, wooden board for the jack to sit on, and shovel. Fines for each piece of equipment you dont have. lol looks like that's not happening.

I'll try it out and see. It's been up for a while and so there might be something wrong with it he's not telling.

Not really. Not a bad deal if you surf fish a lot. There are a few on this board that do purchase the permit and surf fish quite a bit.

Your right its fine if you surf fish alot ,but like he said he's lived in Md.all his life and never been there so he doesnt surf fish much so for a 1time visit not worth the expense IMO.

But at least you have options to pick from there 150 for one weekend of use is kind of steep

    Very True

And I would not pay it either.

There is an air up station for the vehicles when you come in off the beach which is a nice amenity.

Yea it is 150 for a year pass (they only sell yearly which is stupid IMO) but like you said, I've never been before and I don't see myself driving 3 hours one way to do it again sometime this year.

Also there's no guarantee that if even get on the sand. There's like a 140 vehicle limit or something like that. So after that limit is hit, which the website says happens pretty early in the day, it turns into a one off/one on situation. So if I were to get there late I could potentially wait hours to go drive around on some sand. Lol

tht sucks. I got my DE permit and it cost me 65 for a year (My gf lives in Rehoboth so I got the resident price :D). but even for non residents its $130 a year. and idk y in MD u need a jack....tht wouldn't do u any good in the sand. DE u only need tow straps/chains, wood, shovel.

Factory jack works lol I was down there and decided last minute to go out bought the pass it's still good till August. I only had a. Issue with waiting once and that was because there was a big surf fishing event going on I had to wait 20 mins to get on that day.
