It tough to explain without you being in front of me so I can show you and the reasoning on the one with a straighter overload is on the drivers side cause its heavier

Do your leaf packs contact the overload beyond about 3-4" from the centre pin when the truck is unloaded and sitting still on a level surface ? cause mine don't and I have 450-500 lbs in the back of my truck all the time

I agree your uppers have slightly different archs , that's why I said it the first time .

I also wager that ARB is going to tell you they are not side specific

Im sure the lady rep who just got hired will also agree they are not side specific :D but like I said the pic clearly shows a difference in overloads that made a difference in how my truck sits.

well i finally got a very informative answer back from allpro offroad.

"wont fit your truck" is all it said.

even though i had searched under toyota tacoma 2005+ and they showed up and they match every other part number i've seen thats the email response i get. I guess they wont be getting any of my money. Wheelers has always been better to deal with anyways. They even emailed me and asked for my cell number so they could call me. AllPro all i get is wont fit???

So there are 2 listed on wheelers site, one has a what looks to be like a top hat the other doesnt, neither have spring seats

I'm on board with what you are saying. The top overload is pretty flat when pulled out, but there is the slightest arch to it which tells theres a right and wrong way for it to be installed. I would suspect it is flipped in the wrong direction and thus when the first five rest on the initial overload just from the trucks weight, you have more overload contacting the first five. This could and probably is making it so the one side is providing more lift over the other.

Oh and the overloads come in to play sooner than most think. Yep even with just the trucks weight the first overload plays an important role in supporting the pack. This is why when the top overload is removed you actually lose more lift then the thickness of the overload. How do i know this, well I removed mine so the packs performs better offroad.

this would be a huge improvement over your Revtek lift kit for a decent amount of money

i dont know, it sounded cool though!

Ive got these and the only place my truck has been is on a sand pile 3ft high at work.

i really have no intrest in getting coilovers, i'll go with Maxtracs before i spend the money on coilovers.

No chance that an 1/8" - 1/4" of difference in the arch is going to translate to 1 1/2" of ride height

and if the 2nd Gen Dakars were side specific like they are on other vehicles they would state that so you could install them correctly
