No. A lift will not affect your power. Moving to larger wheels and tires will adversely affect your power on a 4 cyl engine. Go for a fat bob lift. Cheaper and just as good as ready lift.

5-lug double cab started in 2011 if I remember correctly. It's in fact lighter than a 4x4 access cab. Only problem is Toyota used 6-lug fenders with flares, so the stock wheels and tires look really small.

I guess you forget about that whole wind drag coefficient and what happens to it when you move it further off the ground. At high speed your acceleration will be affected.

    Phil,
AJGIL asked if I noticed any loss of power. I drove 1k miles without the lift, then 8K with the lift. No power loss. Gas mileage unchanged. The truck does not suddenly become a "sail" when you lift the body 2 inches.

The effect is very minimal. 5-lugger stock access cab has a Cd of 0.37. Raising it 3" AND installing 245 tires will in the worst case make the Cd closer to that of the 6-lugger - 0.39.

Yes tire width affects Cd a lot. TRD Off Road with 265 tires has a Cd of 0.42.

Toyota publishes drag coeff numbers in the product info PDF on the Pressroom site.

    I've seen better ;)
I forget that gay bob lift is only 2", where as my one off gay spacer lift was 4"..... I noticed loss in acceleration and had a loss in MPG. I guess it's harder to notice a loss when you have 2 tons of fun being pushed by 2.7 liters of furry.

Closer or higher, it's still gonna get on it.

Not liking that, if I'm honest.

That's cool, it wasn't expected to impress serious mod guys. ;)

They are about the right size for the truck, the stockers are super small. It isn't sick street rod, but it looks the way it should look bone stock IMO.

The wheels are just about flush with the fenders now. The wheel wells are gapped evenly. It looks like it grew shoulders, if only slight ones. Better than the guppy it was before. LOL.

I have the center caps off, filling them with body putty and smoothing the running pony. A coat of silver metallic and they should have it looking like a factory wheel.

Anyway, I posted the pics so others could see the size/proportions.

On another positive note, the stock Ford sensors are not triggering the TPMS light after 60 miles. I guess they are the same frequency?

Interesting? I did not think you could get TPM on a base. You must have gotten the best single cab base ever. Yeah, I know you dont care about my personal view in the looks department, I would hope you didn lulz.

Is there no TPMS, I thought it was mandated on all cars after 07/08? My base Wrangler X even had it. I was sure the dealer said it was fed law then?

    What is a lulz?

I have never heard that tire pressure monitoring was mandated by the feds. I was under the assumption that it was an option.

LULZ = internet slang for lol

No, mandated for all light vehicles starting in 07 with a phase in. I assumed these would have it by now. Better IMO without it, I just haven't stripped a tire off the rim to see. My kid's 14 Stang has it, and the valve stems look "normal" now. Not easy to identify by the metal stems anymore.

I'll look at my window sticker later, but I do have a reset button for it under the dash I believe. I think I even checked the manual to make sure that was what it was. It has a kinda poorly displayed "low tire" drawn on it.
