I am so sorry! I have seen the movie probably a hundred times and read the book three times. The book tells you what happens in the first ten pages but the movie doesn't come out and tell you (it is implied). I truly apologize, but you should still watch it!

I didn't create my own. I think it was Sean or maybe Ost. I have never even seen an episode of boy meets world. I would have picked Indiana jones or something. Although, admittedly, feeny is probably better. :)

That's a great book. Think Christopher McCandles was insanely nieve and it cost him his life, but I'd be lying if I didn't somewhat sympathize with his longing for a simpler life.

That story (movie/book combo) changed my life for that very reason. If only it would have come out when I was 18 instead of when I was 28. I would have wasted much less of my life/money drinking beer and doing other naughty stuff trying to figure out who I was. He was naïve, but not so much that I see it as a negative. Now some of the other people the book talks about were truly dumbasses but naïveté can allow a courageous person to do amazing things since they are not hindered by doubt caused by cautiousness. He had some bad luck that was compounded by being naïve. The movie doesn't even tell you the real story about the plants or about the river crossing. My suggestion for anyone interested in this story: Watch the movie first but MAKE SURE YOU READ THE BOOK TOO!!!

You have to excuse how I post pics. I really don't know what I'm doing. And it's doesn't help that I do it all from an iPhone.

Yeah it's not only for sliders.... It's also for a tire rack and maybe a rear sliders too. Don't know yet. I just don't get much time off work to buy steel. So I made sure I got enough. $0.50 lbs. for it wasn't to bad. It's all 120 wall.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I think he was naive for not being better prepared, but yes the river and a couple other bad luck instances doomed him.

Having lived in Alaska for 3 years... It's scary... I mean truly soul deep frightening at how remote and isolated areas of Alaska are.... Especially if you are turned around... You could literally walk for WEEKS if not a MONTHS and not see any sign off humanity.

That being said. I loved his ideologies and find myself more and more going that way....

Another great book by John Krackour is Into thin Air... About the Mt Everest disaster, I enjoy his "voice" and perspective in his stories
