Audio Option Questions

I want to be able to hook up an mp3 player via headphone jack, not an ipod only, this way, i can connect my laptop, ipod, anyones elses mp3 player, whatever. Is there a way to hook this up to the trucks stereo? in my last vehicle i used this to connect to my kenwood receiver.


is there something to use with the stock setup

 

Did yours not come with an AUX input in one of the black switch blanks between the power and cigarette lighter outlets?

I'd pull the radio and see if there is an AUX input on the back. If so you could get a $5 "headphone extension cable" from wal-mart and you'd be good to go.

 

no aux input switch, was it an option, if so, i am sure there is one out there somewhere i can pickup and connect to, does anyone know this?

 

i know they come standard on the 09, so if you hit up trdparts or a stealership, you should be able to pick up the aux port and plug/wiring. the aux's are underneath the climate controls next to cigarette lighter

 

you could go with the usa spec adapters...had one in my old man's truck when i was sharing it with him...good stuff but you may as well go for an aftermarket deck..

 

he has an 07... mines a JBL and it didn't even come with it.

 

i think you'd need to buy the whole new plastic piece for that...and get an aux adapter on top of that...may as well just get either the usa-spec, dice or whatever else they have out there
