Where else would you expect it to go silly?

These are basically the first welds I did when I started the swap. Didn't help that the engine was in the way most of the time.

Thanks man, yeah it seems like something is actually beginning to come together.

To make up for the pics of my ultra-crappy welds, seems like they're improving a little.

Bloody hell... seems as if my upside-down welds look 100x better than the rest. :annoyed:

Don't forget the hood, fenders, bedsides, dash, steering wheel, head/tail lights, transfer case and parts of the driveshafts.

Looks like a Taco. Runs like a Taco. Registered as a Taco. Is a Taco.

    So, there. :p

    We shall see. :p

    Serious question time...

    Paint.

What to do?? I'd like to paint the cab before it goes back on.

    Main points

-I'd like to keep the Lunar Mist if possible.
-I know Napa can get the color match in rattle cans.
-I'd like something that is 'single application' for future repair/repaint purposes.

Do I really have to strip all the old paint/clear coat off first?? Or can I just clean it well and paint over the clear coat? Most of the OEM paint is in good shape, right now most of the repaint is needed around the windshield and welded areas.

aren't you going to be welding parts of the skin to the cage? If so, I wouldn't paint it before you put it back on and finish the welding.

also... just how purdy of a paint job do you want?

Yeah I'll be welding some areas, but it'll be a lot easier if I can get most of it beforehand and do some easy touch-ups afterwards. Another reason I'd want a single application kinda paint.

Not looking for something super glossy/showy, just something that will hold up and not look like a blotchy uneven paint job when it needs touch-ups.

If you're going to be welding to the cab I would suggest painting the inside before you weld and the outside after, unless you know what you're doing touching up never really looks good.

Would it be possible to use fasteners to attach the body and cage? You could beef up the area with FB or sheet so they wont rip out.
