I noticed almost immediately after I brought my 2014 TRD Sport 4x4 AC home that the truck height is lower on the drivers side, just like my 01 Tundra with 200000 miles did. Measured at front wheel wells, half inch difference, and rear wells were 3/4 plus! My legitimate question is...is this normal for these Tacoma's? I realize the battery is still installed on the wrong side, drivers side it should not, but the truck shouldn't list that much, no? Many thanks for all your responses. -Rob

Its called Taco lean. All the heavy stuff is on the drivers side. Mainly gas tank and like you said the battery.

You could put a small spacer in the front and probably the back as well if it bothers you that much

Thanks for both responses. I will have to think about what I may or may not do about it. I will probably talk to the dealer. I will post if anything comes of it. Thanks again

I can say unequivecally that it'd bug the shit out of me, the whole Taco lean thing & Toyota's failure to correct, what bothers the most is the publics acceptance of it, I can't think of 1 auto/truck manufacturer that would intentionally incorporate it into design....

Toyota left that up to you, either fix what they don't/won't or live with it, those are your choices...

    +1 it's 'normal'

Your soft linear Sport suspension probably makes it more noticeable. Once I lifted and installed slightly stiffer front coils and rear springs, my lean was pretty much gone.

look if it really bugs you then get a better suspension like icon where you can dial in he amount of lift you want and it will hold up the taco better than the crappy bilstein factory shocks. This is exactly why I am never going to buy a bilstein product in my life because they cant even design them to be good quality.

Mine has done it since new also, has always bothered me.
I actually keep the drivers side air bag inflated about 3psi more to help level it out.

Don't know about that LH turn point, but most US roads are center crowned for drainage -- lower on the driver's side compensates to be level on the highway. Common for many vehicles.

Non-leveling shocks don't determine ride height. Springs do.

If the roadway is pitched (or crowned) for drainage that'd mean the driverside should be higher than the pass. side for compensation to be level...

Yes, it does indeed bother me, only because crap like, say Chevy's, don't lean. Being a legendary car company, Toyota needs to get their s..t together. I will be dealing with the dealer, no doubt about it. I didn't pay 30k plus for a leaner.

I'm happy to say I have never looked, or noticed, so it doesn't bother me 1 bit.

No, road drops off to the outsides, so vehicle suspension needs to be higher there, otherwise sits (and drifts) right. You will (may) see some compensation in alignment also.

I have the bro look going with 4 60# sand bags in for the winter, 4 inches on the ground this morning, I'll have that look for a few more weeks.
