I brought this to the attention of Tyler of pelfreybilt off road, and Jerry of BAMF, and they both agree that it's half assed and not okay. Neither of them weld plated sliders this way. Fully weld the slider first, then fit up the plates. It takes a little more grinding and fitting, but it is how I would do it, and how I expected it to be done.

 

I don't think either of them even know what "Underbuilt" is

I'm not a welder by any means, yet I do know when welding pipe, one should go all the way around. That doesn't look good.

 

So I brought my truck in for service today. And they told me that there was a recall on our trucks. Something about the brakes or something needed to be re calibrated? Anybody else get this notice? Was new to me. They went and did it tho.

 

I started wondering so I looked at mine... Good to know bamf does it the right way. Only thing I did think about was that you can't fully get paint or primer everywhere with the plates welded on..

Started working on a welding cart for my new mig and future tig and plasma. It's the left over piece of 1" tubing from my tube fenders I still have to finish. Going to put some large rubber wheels on the back and some swivel castors on the front.

 

is that the gas pedal chop and brake override recall?
