After lots of pouring over thread after thread on tires and suspension set ups, I'm at about 2 1/2 " of lift. 5100's &885's @ 0 no sway bar, Wheelers 3 leaf hd aal for now. Stock UCA's, aligns nicely to stock specs. Was running 275/70r/17's and getting nice 19-20mpg tank fulls. Was going to go w a 285/70r/17's but decided on 305/70r/17's MTRs. 34"tire. Lots more trimming to fenders, CMC already done. Got them to fit easily for on road duty, major flare mods need to stuff tiers all the way.
First couple tank fulls I couldn't keep from wheeling, these tires are outstanding off road . Crappy fuel milage resulted- 15 & 16 mpg.
Started "trying" to get good milage and lo and behold, 2 tanks at 18 & 18.5mpg. I find that way acceptable for just being one of the slow trucks out on the road.
I rack up a lot miles driving to work, I'm hoping to get 50 k miles out of these. Like them a lot, even quieter than expected by a good margin.
There are many, many tire choices out there. Just thought I'd add my 2 cents.

these have been good tires to me so far drove 8 hours straight on the hwy w/ them from san fran to san diego @ 70-80 averaged around 21-23 mpg and quite shockingly they are relatively quiet for a MT espially after having buckshot mt's and Baja claws

When I went to SCS Stealth 6 wheels, the 4.3" of backspacing had me trimming to fit the 275/70/17's. I'v had to do a lot of trimming, with no rubbing on the street, but off road I rub hard crossed up. Need to do the fender and flare mod guys do to run 35's so I can stuff the tires in the wheel well.

Almost 5K miles on the MTRs now, coming up on first rotation. With careful driving still able to knock down 17-18 mpg with these tires. They do so well off road that I'm always going off on some trail here or there, then gas milage goes out the door. With 5k miles no obvious ware yet as expected, still run way quieter than expected also.
