And i think they kept the turbo sorta..i mean..you can see it in the back when they show shots of the rear in episode 3..but they put the ARB snorkel in..which can't work with the turbo..but when you see shots of the engine bay the STS charge pipe is still there..i am so confused..haha

 

Lol I guess or better than out of my engine bay with a deck plate mod.

 

just make sure to toss the deck plate back on when you wheel

one of our florida members forget to put her plate back on for one of our runs. we had to break out the compressors and blow the sand out.

 

Oh my yeah thats no good lol. I havnt done it yet but I may get a snorkel lol. They seem to be better for my setup than I initially thought. I figured I should just avoid going swimming and then I don't need on lol

 

gives you an idea of just how much sand gets tossed up in and around the fenders/engine bay. this was only about a half hour of wheeling.

 

A guy in T4R installed a snorkel and previously had a deck plate. Same week he installed the snorkel he drowned his engine from getting water in trough the deck plate.

True story. I have a Fiskar axe, hatchet, and splitter. Great idea for mounting, I may have to look into doing the same.

 

It was a custom built rack, built for someone else who wanted to put a soft topper on their truck that could be weight bearing. He got so frustrated with it because it was so tall and his canvas was tearing when he drove freeway speeds. Sold it to me for super cheap, so I re-leveled it (it was built a little bit sloppy) and we squared it. Welded some baskets to bolt underneath the top, painted it with bedliner for texture, and it's better than new.

It's a bolt-together bit it gives me the option to have a half rack as well, or to take it apart and store it. The tubes fit so far into each other though, that it's as solid as a welded rack. I like the extra tall height of it because it means I can walk under my RTT/awning when they are folded out, and I can stack a ton of gear under it even with the baskets but still see out my rear window. It is a bit snug with the RTT up top when on really tight trails with low-hanging branches. No taller than someone with a light rack above their cab though.

 

I was looking through the axe talk a few pages back. Not sure if anyone has seen these. My dad got it for me for Christmas. Havent got to use it yet, but it looks like it will do well. The implements are built well and the handle seems good too.

 

pretty sure you hi lift handle will work with all those too.
