so not are there like 3 different models that sig has in a 9mm, but there are like 20 submodels:confused:
i know i need to go and test some but what are some good features that would be nice to have

this sounds pretty good to me: The P226® SCT is an all black, Nitron® finished P226 featuring front cocking serrations, a SIGLITE® rear night sight, a TRUGLO® Tritium Fiber Optic front sight and comes with four newly designed 20-round magazines for the 9mm version or four 15-round magazines for the .40S&W version.

a sig is indeed a very nice weapon.. however first i'm interested in what you plan on doing with this gun? is it just for target practice and putting a smile on your face, do you plan on concealed carry or just keeping it around the house?

I got the p239 with the 40 barrel in it. I was thinking about 9, butt found out with the p239 you can buy a 9mm and put it in it. So that is what I do. I love it!!!!

I know its not a 9mm. But back when I was a transit cop we got Sig Pro 229's in .40 and it was a very reliable accurate weapon that stood up to being out in the elements. I imagine their 9mm's are the same.

All sigs have the same features (for the most part), so find one that fits your hand, and feels comfortable, then shoot it, and make sure you are comfortable with its features, and function.

It won't matter if the are an authorized dealer or not.If they are a good dealer you will get a "store" warranty for 30 days or so....by that I mean if you have a problem they will send it back at no charge , exchange for full credit on another gun , or refund you.

Just like Toyota , Sig Sauer has CPOs , if you are worried buy only a CPO in the used market. They will have a red box and come with a one year warranty. That being said if you EVER have to use the warranty on a Sig...NEVER buy a lotto ticket as you have bad luck and will never win.I really dislike Sigs design , control postions , and the people working for the company. They are well constructed though , one of the best.

Things to look for.....Shinny metal with sharp edges on the frame or slide.Bulged barrels.Tool marks indicating a "tool" try to work on the guns trigger mechanism.Other than that Sigs barrels have a poor bluing that shows lots of wear even from "dry cycling" the gun.Don't let this turn you off, it is normal. You will also notice this on the frame inside where the rails contact the slide during function.Chewed up magazine followers are often good indicators of use with the gun.But at the same time you can never be sure if they are the originals sent with the gun.

    Hope some of that helped.

That might be the best first post I've seen in a while.

With that said, I owned a P6 until I grew a wild hair and sold it to a friend of mine. Great gun. I got the gun around its (the guns) 22nd birthday or so, shot around 1800 rounds out of it, and not once had any issues at all. Personally, I love the features of a Sig, and their feel is preferable to me.

Ya My dad was a police officer in henrico county for 7 years before moving to the FBI. Other than his .357 revolver, his favorite was always his Sigs
