There is a concept vehicle tacoma that has a 4.7 in it....When mine is old and senile I plan on doing this swap. It wouldn't really be that hard so long as you bought a wrecked tundra/4runner/sequoia (something that had it in it) so that you get the wiring harness and can see how it was set up originally. Depending on what vehicle it came out of they had like 270-300ish hp and around 320-330ft lbs of torque. Once it's old and I buy a new daily driver I'm gonna have some fun :)

I'm surprised, honestly, that Toyota hasn't offered the 4.7L as an option in the Taco yet anyway. God knows people would buy it. Look at how many V8 Dakotas you see running around...and that V8 isn't that impressive anyway.

I think they don't cuz they would lose Tundra sales but I could be wrong.

This is Toyota we are talking about. They haven't built anything even remotely sporty in years.

Yes because those rice rockets only get about 10,000 miles if not 500 miles before something blows up. People who do it professionally can’t and don’t drive them around town. The people who do has no where near 700hp….

Yeah the GT may look sporty but it only had like 140hp so it was really an economy car. The GT-S was a little better but it wouldn't hold up in todays market. Toyota need a 250-300+ hp to even complete in the sports market.

i dont no about in the states but in canada you can get a 2010 tundra with 4.7 or 5.7 so the 4.7 is around.... Might be the 09 because i seem to remember some person saying they changed the engine for 2010 tundra

It should be possible. I put a small block 400 in my old 88. Hell, the factory rearend even held up for a couple of weeks. I've been thinking of this swap for my 06. I'll bet alot of the components, wiring harnes, tranny, are the same. Not sure about the cooling system, and I know suspension mods would be a must. Keep us posted on anything you find out.

I give toyota props though, for the TRD line and superchargers WITH your warranty in tact. 500 HP tundra can be sporty..ish, if its done right.
