Dont go OME, I had 885s before. Eibach or the stock trd spring is a better option. With either Eibach or the TRD spring you will get 2.5+ lift and the ride will be much better.

Yup thats it. 885s probably could go to 2nd notch but I didnt try it when I had them.

WheatherTech Side Window Deflector, Satoshi Grill, T Rex Eyelids, Matt123 Skid Black stamped, Modded Maglite with Maglite mod for driver seat, Bed extender. Full debadging
The ride isn't all that bad with the 885x and 5100's at 0, I also really like the way the truck handles on the twisty mountain bits and rough pavement.

I can actually feel the rear with 5100's and 1.5 AAL and overload leaf left in ride harsher than the front.

But then again it is all subjective.

Interesting , not sure how the stiffer Eibach coil or preloaded stocker rides smoother than the 885's

I'm pretty happy with the ride of my 885 / OME shocks

If I am thinking about this right these pictures are misleading, the damage that would result from over compressing the spring would be damage to the shock internals.

Dont get me wrong the 885s were OK, but given the choice between the 3 I would go Eibach. Even now I have 5100/Eibachs on a much lighter 3rd gen runner and the ride is really good.

But money aside my recommendation would be Icon, offroad the difference is huge between OME or Billies.

Yeah sure , but the spring rate is stiffer with the Eibachs than the 885's

True but something to consider is that icons come with a higher spring rate than the 885s too.

Yeah but I wasn't talking about Icons , I was talking about 885's vs Eibachs

I ordered an 885 and 5100 kit. I am interested in getting a smooth ride for my 2012 DBL Cab. From reading the comments on this forum, setting the 5100's to zero would achieve my goal? If doing so, would there be any lift to the front? I am also getting a 1.5" AAL. Do I even need to install these? If I do, how much higher does the rear get? Will I be leveled out?

    Thanks in advance!
