Hope that you stopped at Local Ocean and the Rogue Pub.. Spent a few months in Reedsport; I'd escape up to Newport on the weekends. That stretch of the 101 is pretty killer.

Yeah the coast is fun. For a weekend, try loving there. Lived in Depoe Bay for a year. Fuck me that was depressing

I recently stayed in the channel house In Depoe bay. Jacuzzi on the balcony literally 30 feet from the waves. Sooooo awesome, but spendy! Love the coast, but only for getaways. Living there might take away the specialness of it.

Anybody known of a weld shop that does personal/custom work around the tri cities Yakima Valley Area? I got a buddy that was going to help me weld on some rock sliders and a lot of time has pasted and not sure if we will ever get around to it. I was hoping I could have some part in doing the work so I could learn some stuff. Any references would be awesome.....

Negative. Its the people. During the winter/non summer months the coast especially Depoe Bayshits down at 4pm. No place to go. And for a 22 year old there was no social life.

I think my boss at work may have a welder in his garage and he lives in Pasco. I can ask him Monday about it.

Picking up my OMETAC05LK kit on Monday, woohoo! I've got a few parts to get together, then I have to find time (and maybe a place) to install it. My garage is full of things OTHER than vehicles or available room, and my driveway has a decent slope to it. Not sure I want to mess with suspension changes on an incline. Worst case, I pull my camper out of my garage, rearrange a few benches and start working.

Anybody have a lead on a shop that will assembly coil spring struts for a reasonable amount? I know I can rent a spring compressor, but honestly those things scare me a little......

You don't need a spring compressor. Just a jack and jack stands. This is something I picked up from BensonX. Jack the truck up and put it on jack stands. Use the jack to lift from the lower control arm to compress the spring for you. Loosen and remove the nut on top. Let the jack back down which uncompresses the spring, and the whole thing is loose so you can now pull it out. Put the new suspension pieces in place by hand, and jack it back up into place, put the nut on, and pull the jack back out. No spring compressor needed, and no lost top nut while trying to remove it with tension on the spring.

That's where the Capt. of the boat lives.. Pretty sure I've heard about a thousand "Well, back in Depoe Bay.." stories..

Somewhere I'd visit, too small to live there.

Fun fact - the charter boat scene from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" was filmed at his fathers charter boat business.

I'm going nuts waiting for parts to arrive for my new truck. I went to Toyota and bought a bed mat today out of sheer boredom. That and the fact I wanted one. ;)

So I bought this 3dolla window decal. It's a purple Oregon with a heart cut out of it (most of you guys prolly think it's gay, but I wanted a lil something girly on my truck). Anyways...placement ideas? I want to put it on the back driver side on the bottom corner. Yeah? Help a sister out.
