Anybody know a toyota specialty shop in fort collins? I took it to fc muffler, and they were pretty worthless.

I need engine stuff though. I already took it to a non-toyota shop and that was a waste of time. I will look into that though.

It is running way hotter than it should. New: fan clutch, water pump, timing belt, radiator, lower rad hose, tstat. It passed the cooling system pressure test Thursday, so I am lost as far as what is wrong. FC Muffler said that there was mud between the rad and the ac condenser that was causing the problem.

Or did you put in a different temperature tstat?

 

Did you replace the thermostat?

 

Yes. I put a 170 stant in there.

I should add that after I bought the truck it ran really hot on the way home 230-240. All of this stuff has been to try to fix that problem. I have tried all the different thermostat positions and none seem to make much of a difference.


Increasing engine revs cools it down for a bit. Which I just think is strange.

 

I think the rpms being higher help circulate the coolant faster to bring the temp down.
Can you upgrade the water pump to one that moves more than the one you have?

 

Clean the mud out from your radiator. If mud is in the ribs , air won't be able to pass though thus effecting proper cooling. Clean your radiator that should fix the problem. nevermind you replaced the radiator have you tried to see if your heater core is plugged that could also cause overheating issues.

 

I totally could, but it ran hot before I put a new one in. I want to know what the actual problem is!

The mud was from a very recent trip. I have never heard of the heater core causing over heating. I have flushed the entire cooling system many times, including the core. I am going to try to look into that though.

Any thoughts on a break-in process ghost? Our swat guys just got lwrc sbr's and were doing a one round break-in with a cleaning between each round, necessary for this item?
