I disagree..... with 5 psi in the rear my truck was slightly beyond level with a slight rake. IMO, the stance is what a truck is supposed to have which was not there pre-airbag. Will you notice that they are in the truck with only 5 psi in them...YES. If you hit a hard bump, you will have less of a cushy ride. If you go over a speed bump, you'll notice that it wont just suck it up and will bounce firmly. If you drive up over an embankment you will notice that the flex is different and you may lift a wheel off of the ground, especially if you turn into a steep downhill driveway, you will definitely lift a wheel. No biggie, a Camry lifts a wheel once in a while and you never know it unless you were watching from behind. Is it uncomfortable or obnoxious...NO. I really didn't notice it until I bought my '13 Sport and realized how much smoother the ride it was.

With only 5# in them, you won't even notice they are there as far as ride height and the ride goes.

Well, you control that by the amount of air you add to them. The more air, the higher the bed raises.

Yes I get that, that's logical. But at the lowest psi (5) is the rearifted from stock? Sounds like it won't be from what everyone says.

IMO 5# will give you the proper rake, rear slightly higher than the front.

You can feel the back of the truck lifting immediately as you add air from zero PSI. At 5 PSI it will be a touch higher than stock. Very little though.

I have 5100's up front set at 1.75. I run 10 PSI to level the truck out. As stated above, a little air goes a long way.

I like the ride with my setup. It makes it feel tighter to me. It feels like you're driving a truck.

I have a off-road PreRunner and I'm hoping with the .85 up front and 5psi rear I will have a slightly higher rear end. Stock the rear is at least 1 1/2" higher.

"In the ghetto.. Bum, bumta bum, In the ghetto"

i take it you live in a small town, back in the late 90's early 2000's ghetto folks used air bags for lift and lowering and in houston you would see cars with $20,000 paint jobs, $12000 rims sitting on the ground on the side of I-10 or the 610 loop because THEY DEPENDED on the bags for height! they are FOR OVERLOAD ONLY!

air shocks and bags are only for slight adjustment to ride comfort and overload not for normal use to 'lift' ot 'lower' your car or truck!

also curious, why would you spend the money on 5100's and air bags, then worry about using them to gain height because the ride being rough. for the cost of airbags and 5100's plus the install cost you couldbuy a really nice coil over lift with coils to suite your taste and also a add-a-leaf that would produce the lift and ride you want?

    cheers,
    disco

Maybe you didn't read this thread. I have no desire to use air bags for ride height. I asked if installing them will raise the rear end. I haul heavy loads and I'm installing the air bags to fix the shitty rear suspension that bottoms out when carrying just my dirt bike and gear on the highway. I'm installing the front 5100's and either setting them to .85" or ordering Eibach springs and setting them to 0 to level the truck.

I have no desire in an add a leaf or anything like that. The firestones will solve the issue and allow me to adjust the ride firmness depending on the load.

Try reading next time before you try to be a smartass. No where in this thread did I talk about using air bags for ride height.

Sounds like the Ride Rites are just what you're looking for. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I want to clarify my comments on "lifting" with air bags. I already had the Ride Rites installed to be used for loaded situations. I added 5100's to the front set at 1.75 expecting them to only level the truck.

With the 5100's set at 1.75 in the front, the rear ended up being just slightly lower than the front. I always kept around 7-8 PSI in the bags anyway, as you can't keep them empty. I just went up to 10 PSI to keep the truck level.

I wouldn't try o lift the truck 3-4 inches with them either.

That's not what the OP is wanting to do anyway. I think they will be perfect for what he wants to do.

I'm leaning towards .85" so the ride isn't too rough. I don't mind the rear still being slightly higher. How is the ride with the front set at 1.75"? Do you have a sport or off-road model?

I have a sport. I think the ride is fine. A little stiffer, but I actually prefer it the way that it is now.
