Once I get an extractor collar for the rifle I built I need to take it out and sight it in.

I would love to take you up on that offer, I just don't think I have a rifle that will shoot 1000yds.

That would be awesome! There are several of us in NorCO. I had a mini Chicago dog event at my house a little ago.

I know I'm late to the party but this suggestion isn't far off from what I did with my competition rifles man. I would go through a barrel in 1500rds from use. High FPS will burn up a barrel pretty quickly and the groups would start opening up (usually run about 1/4MOA until it starts getting 'shot out' then it starts to open) at around the 1,500rd mark so for competition purpose you can't have that. Now, that MOA figure is target practice in near ideal conditions and as I told people who asked 'If you can shoot 1 MOA in the filed consistently you'll win competitions' because there's a lot more that comes into play. I digress. I never cleaned my barrels man. Ever. There's nothing in that tube that survives a projectile running north of 3,000fps and if you're rolling you're own you're going to be running much higher speeds than factory loads anyway I would imagine. Just remember that when you start getting pressure signs your most consistent load is probably 50fps below where you start showing pressure signs. Speed is nice but not at the sacrifice of consistency so it's a thin line that takes lots & lots of practice to learn to toe. Then, just about the time you get it dialed in your groups start opening and it's time to put a new barrel on. lol With your .308 you won't burn up a barrel that quickly as they run slower and cooler so you can expect twice that round count even if you're burning them hot and to get it back on topic I don't clean my precision rifles barrel bores. That's just me and it's a controversial topic akin to engine break-in period and I believe about the same there as I do here.... drive the damn thing! :D

Got mine done... took about an HR since I have to measure twice, look at the instructions between each measurement, and drill... then read the thing again for the otherside... could have had it done in 15-20 mins if I wasn't fuck'n around... also tackled my CB antenna mount which was leaning out, had to bend it so the antenna was 90* rather than 80*

No... these are the stock ones... the ones with the fluted lens... you'd want the clear lens like what I have on my truck now... these would be good replacements for anyone not wanting to go retrofit or pay $200 each for them from toyota...
