I'm in AZ in spirit. I posted the pic in the wrong thread accidentally. Then I reposted it to the NE thread.

I can't wait to call Arizona my home sweet home

traded in my 08 1 year ago.
it was an 08 4wd limited v8 3rd row seat option fully loaded with dvd/nav etc with only 28K miles or something.

good luck with the search, the 4runner's are definitely worth it. that 08 was our 4th one. miss the 4runner.

    Resident 4Runner expert here!

    Things to look for:
    1. Check that it goes in and out of 4lo. Often times if they aren't used, the actuator sticks.

    2. If you look for a V8, they have to have the timing belt and water pump changed every 100k. Make sure it's done

    3. If it has X-REAS suspension, check for corrosion and leaking (I speak from experience here)
    u6aru5e9_168ae50b3fc99ea3d92e8630d9b670a3bfeb89bd.jpg

    4. Check the spare for corrosion and for the dreaded frozen spare hanger.

    5. CHECK FOR SEIZED BRAKE CALIPERS!! I'm on my 5th set of front brake pads, rotors, and calipers! The 4th gens like to seize calipers for some reason. You'll notice some wheel heat after driving, and it might be sluggish under acceleration, or pull to a side.

    6. If it's a V8 or V6, when driving in 4hi, let off the gas, then back on. Feel for a clunk from when the slack is taken out of the front drive shaft. Not a big deal but be sure that they service it.

Not much else I can think of! Happy hunting!
