I have the 4 leaf on my 2014 TRD Off Road (came with it) however I still have the vibration. Is this a newer TSB?

unless you have had T-SB-0008-14 done to your truck, even if its a brand new 2014 off the lot right now, it doesnt have the latest 4 leaf pack on it with the proper caster wedge to reduce / eliminate the vibes.

problem is that tsb doesnt include the 2014 models.... that stated, bitch and moan enough and they should do it for you

    I agree ^^^^^^.
And get them to check your trans fluid on the automatics before you take it home .
Dont wait until you begin having problems .

Its a bummer to stumble upon so much discussion about what sounds to me like a design flaw.

I was searching for vibration issues. I have a 2012 single cab 4x4 with an auto trans. And it vibrates. However its not between 15-25 mph. and i guess its more like a shudder. Just as the truck starts so accelerate from a stop it shudders. It almost feels like the transmission slipping. But if I'm already moving it doesn't do it. Do you guys think this might be the same problem? The traction bars sounds like it might be worth a shot.

I just picked it up from the stealership. They told me the u-joints were binding, so they replaced the drive shaft. I don't think they drove it afterwards though or they would have seen that they didn't solve the problem. But at least its strike one..

    Thanks guys!

    FIXED!

Had TSB 0008-14 done to my 2013 TRD OR AC

eliminated all vibes 15-25 and the thing is smooth as butter at all speeds
I did not even know I had slight vibes at other speeds, but apparently I did because this thing is smoother everywhere !

replaced transmission mount, measured driveline angles per TSB 0008-14
    parts installed
    1 12371-31250 insulator, engine
    1 45713-35050 damper, steering
    2 90080-15079 screw, w/washer
    4 90117-A0005 bolt, u
    8 90178-A0050 nut, flange
    8 94622-51400 washer, plain
    2 48341-04090 bumper, RR spring
    1 48220-04320 spring assy, RR L
    1 48210-04680 spring assy, RR

I went from a 3 leaf pack to a 4 leaf pack (3 springs, one helper spring)
rear ride height went up an inch

    IT WORKED FOR ME

just had tsb 008-14, installed new mount and measured the angle and it fell within spec to not change the rear leaf pack. now the problem is worse. they didnt even have the tool to measure the angle. they want me to come back so they can install the steering wheel dampener because they sent me on my way cuz they didnt want to pay for my rental for more then 3 days because the tool to measure would take a week and a half to get. a week and a half for a protractor? but this whole thing has been a mess. toyota sucks

there is no such thing as falling within spec and no leafs recommended

and a digital protractor is MANDATORY.

have them re-read the TSB using this

Yeah, they don't know what they are talking about. Spell out the TSB for them or go to a different dealer.

Not sure why you'd need a rental. There's no safety concern here where you shouldn't feel comfortable driving your truck.

Well due to the fact that they needed to add the new motor mount then take the measure ment to order the leaf sis what they'd said. But the hang up was them starting the job without even having the proper tool to measure spec. In the tsb print out I have it does say within here I you get these springs, within there you get those but that all depends on if you have the "special" 3 leaf pack or the origional leaf pack. I'll upload the paperwork for the tsb if it's different then the one posted above as soon as I can

Sub'ed. Having a slight shudder/vibration when accelerating from a stop. Never had it before my lift.

Same 10-20mph shudder on acceleration and shudder around 30-15 decelerating. I'm going to go through some of the cheaper DIY options before taking it anywhere. Mine is a '08 DC 4x4 OR SR5.

Why do so many toyota shops not know how to read TSB's? You'd think Mr. T. would have classes for service writers/techs to explain this. It's almost as if they IGNORE TSB's, or their details, they'll go away. So many seem to think they can second-guess toyota engineering on what to do...SO SAD.

Take it back when they have the guage (it's < $100.00). IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CHECK FOR SPEC WITH OUT THIS TOOL !!!!!!!!!

Have them measure and order the leaf pack. There is ALWAYS a replaced leaf pack. Then bring it back in a week and put in the dampener and leaf pack.

Or go to another shop.... (this may be wisest). It's also a good idea to complain to Mr. T corporate.
