I don't know why but I hate electrical stuff. Just need more practice probably. I have some led strips that I will use for rock lights when I grow a pair and decide to install. They have a remote to power on/off which is pretty cool. Allows me to avoid the other thing that terrifies me, which is tearing into the interior to install a switch.

Dude that really sucks. Sorry to hear. I would be stressed out of my mind if that was me. Good luck with the fix.

I have a switch in the bed. I also hate electrical work... I've done a few things like the fog light on any time mod, the radio drawing off the power windows mod, and a few other easy electrical mods.

This one was pretty easy and not very invasive. I just had to drill a hole near the power outlet for my switch in the bed.

Use the rivets Mike. I first installed mine with self tapping screws and they kept coming loose. Got the rivets in good and tight and they have never come loose again.

He has left us for the WY guys. I wasn't even made aware and I own a cabin up there and was looking for something to do with my last weekend of spring break.

I'm just not a fan of rivets, that's all it is. I don't like how they hold and how permanent they are.

I used to think the same thing.. but after having to use them over and over again with aluminum, I found a small drill bit to the center take just as much time as unscrewing a self tapping bit.

but they don't come lose, and they hold tighter without stripping.

only drawback is you can re-use them

    but to each their own
