I'd try the adhesive lined foam, combined with removing the entire door panel and tightening ALL the nuts and bolts.

I've found a few loose ones...... It may be snug from factory and loosened over the miles, terrain, speakers, opening and closing of the doors, flexing of the panel some with windows opening and closing.... Who knows.

Hit home depot and get some door sealing strips.... Foam, adhesive backed, in rolls.... Dirt cheap iirc. Use as needed on 1 or both sides of ur window switch.... It may be thick enough that only 1 side will need the foam.

How did you pull the unit out, and by unit I assuyme you are talking about the black plastic piece that goes around the window controls? DId you just pry it up with a screwdriver?

Just pull up on the window switches, and the front of the unit will come up a bit. It hinges from the back.

Once you have it up a little bit, you can stick a butter knife in there and pry it all the way out.

I'm on day two now, and it hasn't made a sound yet. It used to rattle all the time, so this definitely seems to have fixed it.

I always thought it was the speaker as well, but not so.

I had the same problem on my 13 and it drove my nuts too. I pulled out the window switch control as described above, wrapped some electrical tape on the tab on the back end (closest to the arm rest) and have not had a rattle one since.

Same issue with the rattle on the d/s window switch panel. Dealer tried to fix it at 5k miles and it just comes and goes now. It is really annoying, but it goes with my driver's side window molding rubbing against my window issue also.
