No worries, I'm interested to know which would be a better solution for my wheel flaking. If the plastidip is bad I'd like to know the pro's and con's

Well, there is absolutely no doubt that Nitto Terra Grapplers are a terrible, no good, worthless tire. I can't wait to get a proper tire.

They seem to fall apart on the trail. They absolutely cannot take any abuse. Very frustrating.

Sorry, I should have clarified, Plasti-dip is sort of a running joke on this site. I was kidding and giving Alex a hard time in the process. Personally, I don't like it for the same reason a lot of people like it and that's because it's temporary.

Quickly, I would say the pros to plasti-dip are that it's cheap and temporary. I've seen people spray their wheels with it, then paint over it another color to see how they like it. If they don't just peel it off and no harm done. I would say the con is that it's temporary and I wouldn't say it's a permanent solution to a problem. It's not meant to be a refinishing product. It will cover an oxidized wheel so you aren't looking at anymore but won't protect the metal like a self etching primer and good coat of paint or powder coat even.

Yeah. Trails were broken up ice slabs, rock, running water. Sidewalls took a beating and show it.

I slid under my truck today and came up with numbers that I thought were pretty good. I zeroed my (swing style) gauge off the case at 90* I then checked the two shafts both were at 85* The rear end came in at 85* also. So it has a five degree out of the case and then both shaft are a straight shot back to the pumpkin. I will try and pick up a digital gauge that is smaller but I think my vibration must be coming from something else.

Me thinks it's that weak ass rubber around the carrier. My vibes got better once I caked mine with RTV, then went away with the Dorman carrier bearing. The bearing sucked and kept crapping out so I went back to an OEM bearing. Once I went back to the OEM bearing, the vibes came back. Nothing else changed in the setup.

That doesn't mean anything. 90% of the PM's I've sent don't show up in my inbox but I have confirmation of them all making it to their recipient.

Ruling that out, I think we're left with you just being old :D
