nvwiggins 2007 SR5 DCLB build.

Truck is looking great David. Love the camper LEDs. What trail is this? HLT or the other side?

 

It starts out on that trail which is the 462 road but I took a left before the trail starts to gain elevation and went up the 019 road to Fuller Lake (old Boy Scout camp) then kept going past the camp on 019A to 028. We took 028 back to the West and that runs back into 462, the road that goes to the communication towers and Hunter Lake. 019 and 028 both have gates, one was unlocked and the other we magically floated over....or took a atv trail around to get to the other side. Both have their fairly narrow and rocky sections along with a lot of overgrown bushes which lead to some NV pinstripes.

 

My platform is super basic for now, I might switch it up this summer. All it is is 2 2x6 pieces cut to length to fit in the 2 notches each side of our beds have, then I joined them together with another 2x6 basically making a big offset uppercase I this piece also adds support for the plywood on top so it doesn't sag with weight on it. The two pieces of plywood on top are just 1/2 inch plywood covered with cheap indoor/outdoor carpet. Everything just slips into place, no fasteners needed. Thats probably fairly confusing so I'll get some pictures of it in a few.

Mine too, plus I wanted lights on all the flip up windows/back door so it took a bit to figure the best small light to use that would fit on all the surfaces.

 

Awesome. I appreciate that. Is it stable enough for two people? Without a brace below does it sag? I am a huge fan of saving weight, so if that helps I think I will go that way.

Why are you changing it?

 

Doesn't sag with my girlfriend and I and no brace going to the bed. I want to end up doing storage on sliders underneath it and compartments on each side for tool/misc.

Hell yeah I try to get away from the house as much as possible, thankfully I have a girlfriend that's always down to go and a pretty flexible profession....in the winter that is.

 

Ditto on the pics. Looks awesome! Next year I definitely want to get back out to DV.

 

We try to go once a year... maybe we should think about a northern Nevada TW trip out there I think we might actually try and go back around October too if everything works out right.

 

That would be awesome. Fall is crappy for me though.

Yeah, mostly. And a hand gun class in early November.

 

Yeah, fall could be bad for me too depending on what I draw. I guess we'll know in a couple months.

 

Either way I've been reading up on some other trips and there is a lot more I want to explore down there. I learn about more things every time then I feel like I'm missing out so I need to go back haha.

Thank you! And they are just the Procomp ones from 4 wheel parts I think. Nate aka traction120 from Relentless gave them to me at one of our local mod days.

 

I love the changes you did with your relentless front bumper. Wish I had seen this before my bumper was so close to being done. Looking real good

 

Thanks man, I really wanted it to be unique to my truck. I also changed up the from tubing a little. I love all of Eric's designs I just wanted to incorporate my own touch into it.

Its awesome and nice having a full size spare that doesn't take up room in the bed. I also got it DIY from Eric but he doesn't really offer that option in most cases. After doing it myself I understand why, the HC rear is a bitch to put together even after seeing a few at his shop in different stages of fabrication. If i did it again I would switch up my tire swing quite a bit.
