I spoke with Tim (THE go-to guy at Sparks) today and he confirmed pricing. I had been seeing some cheaper pricing out there and was wondering if anyone had seen a kit for less somewhere. Sparks is Awesome. I live in CA and still buy most of my parts from Tim because they ALWAYS do me right on price and the service is awesome.
Anyway, I am concerned about installing without any intake/exhaust upgrade. Do they even make a TRD CAI for the 2012/2013 Taco V6? It is set up totally different than the earlier models. What intake do you guys suggest or can the existing intake just be modded?
Also, what about exhaust? Is there a dual exhaust option or is it mainly single out? Suggestions?
Sorry for all the lame questions and let me know if I have totally hijacked this thread and should post in a new thread (don't want to step on anyone's toes).
    Thanks again guys,
    Ken

trdparts4u.toyotaofdallas.com has it for $4290 shipped (free shipping) with fit kit. The nice thing about them is they are a Toyota dealership, so if you are having your local dealership install it in order to have it covered under your warranty (instead of just the 12-month parts warranty) some dealerships won't install if it's not purchased from a Toyota dealership. When I had mine installed, my local dealership matched the trdparts4u price since it is a dealership... It's ridiculous that dealerships do that kind of stuff but not suprising.

That is good to know. I really doubt my dealership would match anyone's price, but I think I am going to give them a chance just for the heck of it. I mean I just bought the truck from them like six or eight months ago, but that doesn't mean much after you sign the paperwork:(
I am confident that I could install the SC myself, but am not sure about re-flashing the main ECU and want to cover my a** in regards to some form of warranty. I am still wondering about intake and exhaust systems though. Will it hurt the SC to leave the stock intake/exhaust after the SC install or should I take care of that first?
    Thanks again to everyone!
    Ken

Since you have a new truck you might want to think about having the dealership install, then the s/c is covered for the remainder of the powertrain warranty. It does cost another $600-$1200 for them to install, sucks especially since its not a tough job, I did it just to get it added to the existing warranty. If something goes wrong in 5 years it's covered... With my luck it'll blow up the day after my powertrain warranty expires and I'm sol anyways.

    "LEVEL 1 SPORT PARTS
    Applicability
The first 5 digits of the TRD part number must be "00602" to be considered a Level 1 Sport Part. Part must be installed by a Toyota dealer on a Toyota vehicle and be specifically approved by TRD for the particular application.

    WARRANTY COVERGE
12 months, regardless of mileage, from the date of installation on the vehicle or the remainder of any applicable new vehicle warranty, whichever provides greater coverage with the following exceptions:

-TRD Superchargers - Dealer-installed TRD Supercharger systems are warranted by TRD for 12 months or for the remainder of the vehicle's Toyota Powertrain Warranty when installed by a Toyota dealer.
-The TRD supercharger warranty covers not only the defective dealer-installed TRD supercharger, but also any Toyota-warranted part that is damaged or caused to fail by the defective dealer-installed TRD part."

    *above copied from http://trd-usa.net/warranty.asp

I had the TRD exhaust installed at the same time as the s/c. You won't hurt anything running the stock exhaust and intake with the s/c, afaik, just won't get everything the s/c has to offer with the restrictive stock exhaust and intake.

U don't need to change ANYTHING intake or exhaust related on with the blower..... Except I would use the SUPPLIED air filter that comes with the fit kit just in case.

Otherwise, the other shit is icing on the cake...... If u NEED to install anything else, it would be in the kit.

Thanks again guys. I have an AFE reusable air filter in now (the washable kind, not the oiled type). Man I hate paying for dealership install, that is a bummer. I called a buddy of mine at the dealership hoping he could help me on the side, but he said he could get in trouble with the dealership. I don't want him getting in any hot water, so he is supposed to call me back with an estimate. Wish there was something I could do to cut down the install price.
I guess I will have to rethink my off road light install as well:

First of all, you guys are a BAD influence on me. I guess I am easily prone to caving in on peer pressure. I have had Super Charger on the brain ALL WEEK. you bastards!
OK, just kidding, but I do have what I think is some good news. I finally pulled the trigger on the SC and TRD exhaust. I bought it from a Lexus dealer who had been advertising on eBay and they sold me the SC, fit kit AND TRD exhaust for $4325 SHIPPED!!!!!! I could not find anyone that would/could match the price so in debt I go!
I called my local dealership and they said that they probably would NOT install it for me, saying that they don't like to get into the "mods". They said that if there was a mechanic that was willing to install it, that I could probably get it installed there (Gee, thanks for honoring me by letting me pay you to do your job). I do know one of there Master Techs so I am pretty sure he would install it for me, but other than that, I don't know who to go to. There are two other dealerships I could call, but they are 50 miles away in either direction of me. I think that there are some shops in town that do Toyota warranty work, do you guys think that would be a good way to go?
Man, I am sure I could install this puppy myself (I have a set of the Toyota directions), but m just worried about the warranty part of things. Any thoughts? Any/all advice GREATLY appreciated!
Oh, and does anyone know what air filter the SC kit comes with?
    Ken

Isn't it a bad idea to mount those pods on the A-Pillar with the air bags being behind them? If those bags go off you would get smacked in the face with gauge, no? Ouch.

FYI, TRDsparks price went up on the S/C itself. Apparently they said Toyota Raised the prices. So its $3730 now.

That is probably for the SC only with NO fit kit. They told me that they are going up to around $4200 this morning.

Yeah that's what I said, price for the S/C itself went up. The fit kit is still the same price.

lol no worries, it sucks because if I ordered it a week or two ago would have been a few hundred cheaper!:rolleyes: Just I got lucky a local seller had a brand new Tacoma Fit kit for sale and I picked it up for $320.

just for shits'n'giggles I went to a dealer on my way home from work and got a quote on supercharger and install. Install was $1100 or so OTD...the parts guy quoted me like $4200 or so for the SC, and then said there was a $320 fit kit and ANOTHER $500 fit kit, and I had to buy both. I think the second kit was BS, or something. Either that or the actual fit kit that TRDparts sells has been combined or something. I was like...eh....over 6k for SC+install? I think i only have like a year and a half left on my warranty, or so, so i might just install it myself with help froma buddy who's done his own SC install several times (not on a Taco, but I'll have the install PDF there the whole time and he's a licensed mechanic)

Gonna check another few dealers and price around...if I can keep it under $5k for SC+ install I'll do it...but we'll see. Might just have my buddy do it and save myself a grande or so lol
