I would still like your thoughts and suggestions. I've settled on size but not on tires. Looking for cheap.

Grapplers are a fan favorite around here...and rightfully so, they look and perform well off what I've read. If you meant Falken...I've pretty much read they're crap.

A strategy I've employed is to check ebay, then inquire directly to the contact about what you're actually looking for.

I'm currently in the market for a set of Mickey Thompson (Baja Claws or MTZ's) 285/75R16 - my first quote was $1300...I'm down to $1030 for the claws, $1020 for the MTZ's shipped at the moment. Got that low through the ebay strategy.

But hey, if anyone around here can beat that price I'm all ears!

So, I've decided on 285/70/16 Nitto Grapplers. Got to save up because they are pretty pricey, if anyone knows of any deals, please let me know.

If I go 285/70/16, do I have to take off mud flaps and trim? I have a 2.5" lift. Thanks.

Did you notice any loss of power with that size?

Hey man, i just went through the same exact dilemma, ended up going with the 285/75-16 treadwright warden. Glad i decided on the bigger tire and the warden is perfect, aggressive looking tread but still very streetable. I do rub and I'm doing the cab mount chop this weekend. Good luck!

Now, I can't decide. I painted my wheels flat black and left the center cap off and it looks kind of mean and you can see the blue anodized color of my wheel spacers. Thinking of staying 265 in a MT.

I've read that many people Rub only in reverse with 285's. Why is that? Does it on,y happen while turning in reverse or straight back?

just alittle power but not much. am not sure how much you need to trim off on stock rims but heres some picture of what i need to trim off using 16x8 rims with 4.25 back spacing on fn wheels. first picture is from the front bumper under guard and second picture is the back side of the front tires. not good of pic but hope this helpsDSC_2270.jpgDSC_2265.jpg

For my 285's going straight forward or reverse it doesnt rub at all. However it does rub the cab mount in forward and reverse near full lock. I had to trim some of the inner fender and the lower part of the flare. The power difference isnt bad from a stop, but when youre cruising and youre approaching a hill ill notice the truck needing to drop a gear, especially in cruise control. But the gas mileage doesnt seem to be too affected. Hope that helps.

Thanks, that did help a lot. I don't feel comfortable taking my flaps off and trimming that much. Your truck looks awesome, but I think I will stay at 265/75 with my 1.25" wheel spacers and just get a real aggressive tread.

I'm going g to stay at 265/75/16. Can you guys recommend "AGGRESSIVE" looking wheels and show pics? Purely for looks, not for off-roading. Thanks.
