    Love the video Jim. Brought back a lot of memories working the flight deck on the Big E back in 69. Other than loading all those bombs I'll always remember the "ABANDON SHIP" drills. When they called the drill our squadron's position was at the bow (90 foot jump to the water). They would tell you to jump and swim away from the ship as fast as possible (a ship that size drags in a LOT of water when it sinks). Then they would announce the location of the nearest land. On one drill the announcement of the nearest land was 950 miles off the starboard (right) bow. Now I was young and in fairly good shape but had some concerns about that swim! :eek::eek::eek::eek:


    Charlie, hope that surgery next week goes well.

    Think I promised some time back to post this picture, so here it is. The time of year to drag the "Garage Queen" out and get her ready to fly.
