an honor to be the subject of your first post, amazing!

It looks like the job went quite well, I see you were even prepared with the bolt to remove the rotor

how easy would you say the job was?

It's fantastic to know I have yet another satisfied PreRunner customer

Yeah, I have been a long time lurker of this forum. I did previously post a few things under a different handle, but for the life of me could not remember my password and the email it was associated with is no longer active. Even then you could probably count my posts on one hand. So new name and new first post excitement!

The bearing assembly swap job for the PreRunner (4x2) is extremely easy as long as you have the tools on hand. If you haven't had to take off your caliper yet, that may be the hardest part. Those two bolts are torqued to high heaven! Get out your cheater and breaker bar if you have them. But really all that is necessary is a metric combination wrench set and a rubber mallet.

Oh yeah, remember which side of your rotor shield (is that what is called?) faces towards you when you install the hub assembly. Made that mistake on one side. (DOH!) :frusty:

I always say if you have replaced your brake pads/rotor you are only a few bolts away from removing the hub assembly.

It's very easy to mix up the dust shields, or put them on backwards :anonymous:

Very encouraging CrasherMike. Glad it went well and you're happy with them. I've got a new Pre-Runner assembly on order too. Front driverside needs replacement.

Yup, front driver side went out on me too. It was rumbling for years, but I kept putting off the replacement because of the cost for a new assembly, not knowing these were available. Then a few weeks ago it went from rumbling to grinding. So I said, "Well, I guess the bearing finally broke" I was stuck riding my motorcycle or taking the train for two weeks.

I replaced both front just to be safe. Now I have two assemblies I can take apart on my own time. Might try to rebuild them (if they are decent shape) and keep around as spares for future emergencies. Kevin (nj636) seems to be doing pretty good business building these assemblies, so you never know when he may retire.

Kev - looking forward to wheeling with you this coming weekend!

I just wanted to chime in & say how impressed I am with the quality of these parts.

I'll be doing a complete front-end rebuild this spring and these are a very important component of the project.

Having a local member that produces this awesome - keep up the great work!
