That's where I got mine. I hear the color match is a bit off, that's why I went with the black though. It has been 6-7 years now and the paint still looks new.

 

Got mine there too but got the black and figured Id paint it. To tell you the truth, not all that interested in painting it really unless I can find a perfect color match . I dont have any compressed air/paint guns so Im probably sticking with rattle cans...

 

Same here. I knew if it wasn't a perfect match it would bother me. The black works for me.

On another note, I do plan on adding a plx wideband gauge, but not on the pillar. I would like to keep the "oh shit" handle. I will probably mount it somewhere around the steering column or radio...

 

That air brush works with a can of compressed air. Or you can get this http://www.homedepot.com/p/t/202533738?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&storeId=10051&N=5yc1v&R=202533738 and have a place like NAPA custom mix some paint for you.

 

I ordered a light grey color matched gauge pillar to give another review. I don't care if it's a little off color.

My front passenger side has been making a pop/clunk every once and a while when turning/going over bump. i feel like i just replaced LBJ (with OEM) on that side. I looked at my sway bar end links and the boots are pretty torn up. could those be the culprit?
I do have suspensions: Toytec boss coil overs 600lb and OME dakars in the rear w/ 5100's.

Just remove the sway bar all together. It will ride so much nicer, and you'll get rid of the clunk assuming that's the culprit.

 

It's time for the oil to be changed in my truck. I've always taken it to the dealership and had them do, so this will be the first time I will be doing it myself.
My question is, should I stick with standard 5W-30 or switch to full synthetic?
I'm in the dark when it comes to really knowing about which oil is which and what not. Also, I know I should stick to a Toyota oil filter but my question about that is, do I have to order it or do auto part stores have those? Thanks in advance!

 

Toyota dealers will always have them in stock.

My friend who owns the #1 rated shop in Boulder says that full synthetic oil is not necessarily any better. He has taken extensive courses/trainings/etc on oil. If you change it out every 3000 miles, regular oil is perfectly fine.

 

I only like full synthetic for the longer intervals.

 

This is what one of my fellow co-workers did to his, lol. Dont worry about how hard it will be to wash because he never does until it rains again. 4 banger rolling on 35's.

Yea I was thinking I should at least take it off temporarily to see if that is what the noise is. I'm just kind of scared because I mostly do city/freeway driving and from what I've read it's not safe because it can make you loose control if you have to make sudden turns at high speeds.. (Example: to avoid a deer)

Just my opinion, I don't see a need for synthetic in an engine with high miles. I run synthetic in my Harley but it's new and yes I go 5000 between changes cause it's freaking expensive.
The truck gets Castrol 10W/40 and a Fram mid-grade filter. Toyota filter is prolly better and about the same cost.

What you don't want to do is constantly change types/brands of oils. Decide what you want to use and stick with it. It's okay to make a change now and then to see if something is better but try to stay consistent.
