God work sucked today. Caterpillar engines are great. Until they have to get overhauled. What a nightmare. They're like volkswagens. They're put together ass backwards and you need a special tool for everything.

Hey, at least you can usually easily find parts and they can be fixed. Some of the other brands are a nightmare to service and aren't worth anything after a few years.

 

Gotta be better than the old nordbergs my buddy bitches about.

Yes i am an MK. Working on one of the 270' cutters with the D398 caterpiller marine diesel.

 

I was a MK also but at a small boat station with a 44, two 41s and a 21

Posted this in the Long Island thread, maybe someone here can help as well.

Anyone have rust issues with their frames on long island? I Was doing my brakes last week and found two bad spots on the driver side by the cab mount where it's rusted through. I called riverhead Toyota as they are the closest to me. Service guy on the phone said they are not replacing tacoma frames, only tundra 02-06 and maybe the sienna I forget. Wondering if anyone local has had their frame replaced by a local dealer on toyotas dime. I'd like this process to go as smoothly as possible. Will post pics of the condition of the frame later today. Thanks for any help you guys can provide.
