On that topic though I can think of some reasons this would still be a bad idea. Most would involve spur of the moment decisions with a discarded weapon that could help resolve a situation.

 

It's a bracelet that you wear that allows them (DOJ) to track (through fingerprinting) who is in possession of and using the firearm. Way too far IMO

 

Could violate 4th amendment stuff but at the same time make it damn easy to find killers and suicidal subjects.

Ok, do you know who it is? Check the fingerprint ID file and get a name and address and phone number, call the fool, court ordered cell phone ping, pinpoint locale and take down. Problem solved.

 

Takes battery out of phone, plan had been foiled.
