one thing we all can agree on is RECON needs a major Update so maybe thats the Best way to fix the system. 1970s vehicle laws were made for 1970s vehicle manufactured vehicles not todays technology.

so maybe someone should start to push a recon update.

I "heard" an update was in the making but with recon backed up I doubt itll happen soon. I agree recon should be thrown out and our safety inspection should be more detailed.

Imho I don't think they'll ever end recon. Just like when they tried to do away with the whole safety check system thingy. It'll never pass the senate or house, or whatever.

That's because so many people are dependent on others to tell them something is wrong. The majority of people on Oahu would rather call AAA to change a flat or tow them to a repair facility than take a little time to figure out how to correct the problem.

That is why I stated that the best way to approach getting rid of recon is to instate a new safety check that covers most of what they do. You are not going to get rid of it with the current and standard politicians in this state.

The state loves how the current problem(program) works now. Why because they pay PEANUTS to shops to handle all the dirty work while the program functions. shop owners if they were smart they would all protest and say fk it and all ditch the program. and then the state would have to figure something out like a state inspection center where all cars would have to go through. that would take out the middle man inspector and middle man recon. one stop and your done no bullshitting around no illegal inspections no loop holes.

but come on really? they arent that smart or have the funds for that

The one thing I hope works with getting recon repealed is the double standards.....

It shouldn't matter the type of vehicle you have. There should be one standard. With that said, why can I build a 32 Coupe with no fenders on it and pass recon but lift my truck with tires that stick out a little and they fail me with out fender flares.....
