This new mediterrainean diet my wife is on is killing me. I'm down to 153.2 as of this morning from 157.8 (I believe) from a week and a half ago. This is one of those things damn if you do and damn if you don't. I don't want my wife to get frustrated and discouraged seeing me lose weight and I really don't want to lose weight and she not doing as good. I guess each body is different with metabolism and other things. She weighed this morning after I ASKED her if she weighed anymore and she got on the scale and said she gained. I said its b/c you got your clothes(scrubs) on. It might be time for me to thaw out some deer burger or deer sausage out for me to eat.

I can tell you to honestly keep eating meat at least 4x a week especially on days you go to the gym.. The amino acids and protein structure from meats (especially red meat) is what will help you gain muscle...

My damn. Gf thinks that because she has newly taken to vegetarianism that I shouldn't eat meat anymore also....

I cook the tastiest meat dishs now and eat them while she eats her nasty vegatation.

I'm trying to be supportive but I may have to eat something else. The dr doesn't want her to eat red meat but like twice a month.

I would do the diet that fits your goals. If she's not losing weight, she might need to lower her calories. It also could be that her body is simultaneously burning fat and adding muscle, which can lead to no weight loss, but is still good (happens a lot with people who've just began working out and eating right).

My fiancée has different goals from me, so our diets are very different, especially when I'm bulking. That being said, I wouldn't eat a double cheeseburger in front if her if she's on a low calorie diet because that's just wrong lol

Thats the thing too, is she has an office job where she is sitting down a lot and I have a job where I am constantly walking, lifting, stacking, etc. She asked me last night if doing crunches would help her lose some. I said I would think so it would help tone your stomach area up. Hopefully I can get her out after supper and we can walk in the neighborhood.

The thing that most women get wrong is they think to loose weight, they need to starve themselves. That will actually cause them to gain becuase their metabolism will slow down and the body will try to reserve the fat for survival.

The key is the right diet (good foods low in sugar and carbs that are not over-processed, not scarcity), and eating lots of small meals. This will get your metabolism to work faster, which will then turn into your body burning fat.

Also the type of workout you do will affect metabolism. I am no expert here, but I know there are some types of workouts that will keep your body burning fat long after you leave the gym. Somebody can chime in here, but I heard that when on the treadmill, doing bursts of sprints and slow jogging in between will cause this. On the opposite side, if you do a super long run and a slower pace, once you stop running, your body stops burning fat.

I've always heard hiit is better for fat loss than litt. I don't know why because I don't do much cardio nor use it for fat loss. I guess it has something to do with short bursts of high intensity, compared to steady state crap. Cardio isn't a recipe for fat loss; it just let's you eat more bad shit. I'd rather just eat healthy at a deficit and skip the cardio.

Also, women often underestimate the fat burning power of weightlifting. "I don't want to look like a bodybuilder" is the biggest misconception in the women's fitness industry. Women aren't going to look like a bodybuilder unless they're on AAS. Every woman you see on the cover of a fitness magazine lifts weights and they're hot as hell, IMO. Them cardio bunnies look like starving Ethiopians to me.

Tell her to start lifting weights. She will get tone and even after shes done lifting she will get the "afterburn" and keep burning cals after the workout.

A lot of women are scared to death of "getting big muscles" and they think that if they lift for a few weeks they are going to get big instantly...Hogwash I say!

I know everyone is different but here is the difference between running only VS. lifting weights mixed with HIIT (high intensity interval training).
    This is my old lady
