So... i bought the OBX Header for the 2005-Up Tacoma

    This part scares me about buying one. From the item description "With this header installed you the car will see the factory cats have failed / non existant and will bring up a check engine like; you will also no longer be emissions legal"

    First of all this is a simple Header before the Cat, It does not touch the Cat, its even before the o2 sensor. How would changing a header without touching the other items effect the Cat and o2? it most likely would not. JS

    I will get some after install pics it looks just like the DT header and now its a blue color where i have ran it so much :) lol

    Header is filthy its been really cold here snow and salt are flying everywhere. sorry for the delay this gas been the best day we have had in a while

    hey brother, hows life with the obx header been?, I saw this thread and have seriously considered buying one, i was wondering if you'd had any problems with it? like cracking at the welds?

    no problems at all, its held up nice and sounds really cool at WOT, did i notice a HUGE power increase not really, but you could notice a slight difference.

    Built for maximum low end torque, tooter II.VII intake manifold spacer, LCE long tube header, Injen long tube intake, 2,900 rpm torque peak.
    I had considered a short tube header, but the dyno charts show it raising the torque peak 200 rpm over stock from 3,800 rpm to 4,000 rpm.

    Whereas the dyno results for the long tube header lower the torque peak from 3,800 rpm down to 3,150 rpm. So I chose more bottom end pull over more top end acceleration even though it cost more.

    Does you engine have a separate air injection pump with plumbing on the stock exhaust header? Whatever header you get should match your emissions equipment.

    I really still like this header a lot, it's been a pretty great bang for the buck, I would buy it again

    The OBX looks to be the same design as the Doug Thorley header and has the same style of air injection plumbing for the stock emissions controls. I'd guess that the dyno results would also be similar to the DT...

    ...for a fraction of the cost. :)

    I have a similarly designed header on my Toyota Yaris, and at almost exactly the same price ($203). :)
