So ive heard a whole bunch of stuff on Taco Lean...
When i asked Micah at DSMS to preload my coils for me before shipping them out, i asked him if they pre-adjust the drivers side differently to compensate for taco lean. He told me if my truck isnt leaning stock, then it shouldnt lean when i put my new coils and shocks in. Is this what everyone has experienced....or is there anyone who didnt have the lean before, and has it now that they changed to MT. I dnt want to deal with adjusting once on the truck, i wanna preload, put it on, and go.

Can i get some preload numbers? Im getting 650 springs, DCSB. looking for 2.5 - 2.75 up front to level with my dakars. Any suggestions? pics would be awesome!

With my kings my truck leaned almost an inch on the drivers side. I just recently had it cranked up but now they make noise over certain speed bumps, kind of like a clunk. It's like 3 threads showing on passenger (default ) and 6 threads on driver.

I think that is normal, atleast that's what it took for me. Ground to fender is roughly 37 1/2 inch.

Front , honestly the rear end was pretty even and even more so after front end adjustment. Forgive my slow response I'm at work and using the phone.

There is too many variables to have the preload adjusted before install. How much gas is in the tank, How much does the driver weigh. Best is to buy a spanner wrench, Install the rear stuff first, then the front (so you only have to adjust once) Measure center of hub to top fender lip on every corner, adjust as need. Figure for every 1/2" you adjust on the coil, it's about 1" on the vehicle. It's a 2:1 ratio. Also have to figure in a 5-10lb variance in the coil rate from the factory.

The Tacoma lean is not just Tacoma's. it's every truck that has a driver in it more than a passenger in it.

Its a bad idea to adjust King OEM coilovers on the truck. They use a taller spring than Icons and the adjuster ring will hop over the threads when you loosen it. Ask me how I know.:D Micah @DSMS had to help me out.

Its not an issue with 8" LT coilovers due to the length of the 16" springs and I never had any issues on my last LT truck. These OEM Kings are a PITA to adjust but rock in the dirt.

Ya, King uses a 14" spring. Icon uses a 13" spring and it makes a big diff.

I know its irrelevant now, but here is the Icon set up I went with. I am sure the Kings are a great shock. If I was building a pure off road vehicle I might have gone King. Being that most of the time I drive on road I went with Icon for the on road handling. I will say this for the Icons - off road at speed they are awesome. Guys on toytech suspensions can't keep up. Rides smooth! and for the slow stuff it good too. My feeling is the slow stuff equalizes out the shocks. I liked the Icon or what I read about with the high speed stuff. love them and I am happy with them.

Front 2.5 ext travel, icon UCA. Rear 2.5 ect travel remote resi, Icon AAL

Nice setup, exactly the direction I am headed real soon.

Curious, I know the King/Fox/SAW guys have said adjusting the front CO- is not a simple procedure. How easy is the adjustment procedure on the ICONS? Did you use the spanner when doing so?

I didn't get the spanner wrench but from what Jason at Demello Off Road told me its as simple as jacking the front of the truck the turning the rings. Once you get it set I don't really see a need to keep re setting it.

Ok, thanks for the response. I take it you installed them as they came out of the box- no adjustment yet.

Was just curious how well the spanner wrench worked around the UCA, when adjustment is needed.
