    Just out of curiosity, where are you guys mounting the limit strap on the rear? In my Silverado I have it on the same bolt as the lower shock mount and a tab on the top. On the Taco I was thinking on doing a clevis on top and tab on the lower. I know it comes down to personal preference, just want to see what other people are running.

    yes, I have owned 2 Nelson built engines that were the most amazing power-plants I have owned or built.

    His DOHC ( 4-cam) 2500++ HP v-8 is a well Engineered engine.

    I have a clevis on the frame and a tab on the axle, the clevis makes it so much easier for just a few bucks more :)

    This was my old set-up. We used two tabs on the bottom and the top. Running the straps like this was a suggestion from Tim @DMZ. It keeps the straps away from the shocks at ride height so that you dont need to run bungees.

    Awesome thanks for the input everyone! I think I may need to order shorter straps now, with the positions I'm seeing on the pictures and from messing around with it last night looks like 16s are too long to be used with a clevis.

    If you can keep the strap from being twisted at all that will keep their life longer. Benefit with the clevis is you can adjust after they stretch or if you change things up a bit with a shackle or something.

    You dont need a clevis for your rear limit straps in my opinion. I measured my needed length and subtracted 1" for the limit straps to stretch. At least thats what worked for me.
    It was a 9" and it was a lot of work to make that thing work right.

    ...too much shit to list.
    What exactly are you breaking? I'm about as hard on parts as anyone can be, and the only thing in my front diff I've broke was the ADD stub shaft.

    im real hard on my truck. trailer only rig and the skinny pedal is almost always mashed to the floor. -im pretty sure thats my problem. this time i was trying to go up a hill with extremely loose rock, like so loose no one ever makes it up it. but i was determined. had her hammered in 2nd or 3rd in 4 Lo, i forgot which. had quite a bit of wheel spin and i think my tire clipped a rock that was stuck in the ground, then SNAP. then grinding and some popping insued.

    the first time i broke a ring in pinion.
    this time, im not sure yet, the diff is in my trunk and im taking it to a buddies house to take it apart and see what happened this time.
    im assuming ring and pinion again as its doing almost the same thing.
    im running 4.88s
    this last set of gears was cyro treated too( i think thats what its called? )

    i also have manual locking hubs.
    this last go around i had the gears installed at sierra expeditions so im pretty sure it was done correctly.

    does excessive driving in 4 LO do harm to the gears, or just the transfer case ect?
