    ...too much shit to list.
There's no real aftermarket upgrade parts for the 7.5" clamshell. Best thing you can do is adjust your driving. It's ok to lift off the skinny pedal ;)

    bummer... i figured.

i have adjusted my driving quite a bit already.... lol. i used to think i drove a race truck every time i drove it. skinny pedal down everywhere, do 60 through everything. and then i would think it was a rock crawler that races in KOH immediatley after... haha
after breaking so many things i have finally started to think like "well, there is 3 ft deep woops right here... but 10 feet to the left it is flat... i should probably go over there" lol

ill go with cyro treated gears again and try and adjust my driving habits more and see what happens.

god ball joint and 4wd problems suck. LOL

Excessive driving in 4lo is no bueno. That's for crawling. You might still break stuff if your pinned in 4hi but it's less likely.

Does the Torque of 4lo just put more pressure on things or what? From my understanding the transfer case does all the work from four hi to Forlow? Wouldn't it be putting the same stress on the gears still and just put more stress on the transfer case? Or am I looking at that wrong?

And the desert I am pretty much always in 2 high or if I need to go up a hard hill I drop it down into Forlow. But when I am in the dunes it is in Forlow practically the entire time. This truck gets duned like a razor would. 2 Wheel drive you just get stuck, Four hi there is not enough power. Just Boggsdown on everything and you will end up screwing yourself that way. For low will literally go up anything. Just hit the gas and it goes. Guess I will just have to pay the price with driving in Forlow. Oh well at least it's just a toy :)

Edit: oh And we tore apart my front diff today. My spider gears were completely gone pretty much. And that made my ring and pinion chip. There is also a crack in one of the teeth on the pinion. So pretty much all new internals for me.....

I couldnt say for sure if thats why it grenaded but high speeds in 4 lo stresses out your entire drivetrain. Your transmission and transfer case for sure and I would assume your gears as well but Im not positive.

Some questions.. Anyone know if a bed off a 98-01 will bolt up into a 97?

    And also, will a 3.4 from a 98-01 bolt up into a 97 that originally had a 2.7?

    Bed will work.

Fender flares will be different but that's it. Same 6 mounting bolts

I'd look for a engine swap thread to get it confirmed. But it should line up and fit fine.

Has a 2.7 with a blown head gasket, easier just to get a motor and would like to just put a 3.4 in it

I know guys swap em. So shouldn't be that different. I've never owned a 2/3rz though so I'm not sure on the motor mounts.

yea the 2/3rz comes with the W59 5 speed and the 5vzfe is a r151 tranny.

id get the r151 with the 5vz if your swaping. easy to mod the body to fit the tranny. I did. No issues.
