What ever you can find that's thicker than a floor mat lol! Wtf is a floor mat gonna do? Rocks, branches, Small children...

That's the situation I bought the TREDs for... No need to jack the truck up and pile stuff under it. Just wedge the TREDs in front or behind the tires and drive right the fuck out

    Lol nice

hahah idk! It was worth a shot, it was like all we had and i had no clue what I was doing. Treds are sweet. I'd love a set eventually. I'm still too busy racking up funds for this winch/power washer that I need to buy. i always fall for the gimmicks...

    This.

My problem was not the lack of traction, well it was kinda the problem, but the biggest problem was the frame sitting on the ground. If I had a way to get the frame off the ground and shit piled under the wheels then I would be okay.

    um...oK...

Yes that's it. He has great video tutorials on use of recovery gear including the hi lift. I suggest everyone watches them. Very informative.

Why you hating on hi lifts so much?

    Did one hit you good?

Yea I was talkin about a winch/pressure washer. I've never seen it before but my thought process is it can't be that great at both. Just like a spork is not a good spoon or a good fork.

And yes I was making fun of your spelling. I've heard of them referred to as widow makers since they can kill you if you aren't careful. But haven't heard them called window makers. Since you sell glass I was making a pun.

I'm not hating on hi lifts. I said mine has saved my ass a few times. I was just pointing out some facts about them. People assume if they just get a hi lift they'll be good to go. Hi lifts are better than nothing but there's a lot of things that are better than them. I've used one to winch and you're lucky if you can move it 2 feet at a time after the slack gets tight. Depending on the situation it might be enough but not usually. I've used it in situations where you can't safely lift the truck because of uneven terrain, etc. but a floor jack definitely wouldn't of worked. If used it to lift my truck out of sand or mud so I can stack rocks under the tires to drive back out.

Probably the best bang for your buck for a piece of recovery equipment, but a lot of people have misconceptions about them and how great they are. I have a hi lift, a shovel, an axe, a winch, and TREDs because not all situations need one particular piece of equipment.
