    It is literally called a "Wiring Harness Protector" in Toyota's part system.

    Ok I'm going to go open this thing up and see what's inside. I hope I don't void any warranties or anything. I'll post up some pictures.

    I thought these sliders were going to be a whole lot easier to install.

    The black box in my first picture doesn't even show a part number. The other little metal bracket is on the other (driver) side frame.

    Everybody's getting all curious about what it is.

    It doesn't MATTER what it is. It's part of your truck, man!

    Only question remaining is - what do you do with it when you install your bolt ons - and the easiest answer is:

    1. unbolt black box
    2. bolt on sliders
    3. drill and tap a couple mounting holes in slider mount brackets and
    4. re-bolt black box.

    My '12 Sport has them on both sides, just took then off and re installed through hole provided on my ATO bolt on's.
    Can't tell you what it is tho...
